What lowering springs and how low should I go?
Hi,
I own a 2012 BMW 550I x Drive, and I was looking at getting some lowering springs. How low should I go, what are some good brands? Drop some pics below with wheel size and how low your lowering springs are so I can get a good idea of what my car would look like. Thanks! |

You will get many opinions on how low you should go. Whatever you do, you'll probably end up changing your driving style over speed bumps, driveway entries, etc.
I like the AC Schnitzer springs on my 535xi. Given where I drive, I would not want to go any lower, but the handling is definitely better.

I had H&R Sport springs on my old 535i xdrive. I'd recommend them if you're not looking to spend some $$$ on KW

The Dinan springs are great if you're looking for a conservative drop yet modest improvement in handling. I ended up switching over to KWs because no matter if ACs, H&R, Eibachs, Dinan's or whatever lowering springs, they're good if you're looking to drop, but none will improve the ride that much. The KWs finally made my 550i feel like a German performance car.
Speaking of which, I have set of used Dinans for sale shortly if you're interested.
