I know I wasn't included but going to post anyway for reference. I always get 34 +- 1mpg no matter what kind of driving I do. I don't even think about driving the car hard or not. It doesn't seem to suck down any more or less fuel no matter how I drive it. Love this engine. |

I get about 330 miles of city driving out of a brimmed fuel tank. Given it's an 18 gal. tank, that comes to a realistic MPG of 18.33. Not great, but certainly better than any M-car or AMG I've ever owned.

Just got back from a 1058 mile trip. According to the car I averaged 29.4 over the trip. That included a couple/3 incursions into triple digits to pass someone on the one-lane US395. At my almost-home (25ish miles) fill-up I averaged a hand-calculated 33 mpg! Here's my last DTE...

Ive got a '12 528x Msport which just happens to have the Dinan tune
What I find that varies my MPG the most is whether im in engine throttle sport mode or not. I have Dynamic Damper Control and lots of times I set sport mode to firm up suspension and leave engine in standard throttle mode. I drive in sport mode 99% of the time. My city is between 23-25 MPG regardless of mode. My highway is 27-31 when engine sport throttle mode is enabled, but in standard throttle mode, Im around 32-36 MPG. I get stellar mileage while cruising 80 on the highway and no ones around. Of course the engine throttle tuning also plays with transmission shifts so standard mode always sits as high a gear as possible. I also tend to be in manual shifting mode a lot. I prefer it having been a stick driver for 35 years. I want a manual so bad, that this is probably my first/last 5 series. Barry |

2014 535. 16,6 average with 95% city driving. My 528 E60 only got slightly better therefore I conclude must also be driving like a dick!

2012 535xi:
I used to get about 18MPG (US) doing mixed highway/city. Nowadays I do about 70-80% city driving and get somewhere in the 15-16MPGs. I don't think I drive like an "asshole", but if I wanted to drive it like a Toyota, I would have bought a Toyota! If I do long road trips (90% highway) I've gotten up to 25MPG, but I never use cruise control and enjoy take-overs on the highways . I've never managed more than 25 on a fill-up. For people looking at the car's reporting, if you do the actual math I've found mine to be reporting about +1.5~2MPG from the real number. Pretty ridiculous. |

535ix - 2011 - No mods - high mileage - always in 'Normal' mode
90% City Driving - getting 19 to 20 MPG (11-12 L/100KM) In long -highway trips- can get to 24 MPG I have tried different 'driving' patterns with minimal change at the end |

as a side note, have also an e60 (530i, 6 spd manual), driving aggressively, all city driving, I get 10.5 l/100km avg.
My wife drives the F10 quite conservatively and we get LESS fuel efficiency that the older e60 driven hard...... |

I've been tracking mine with the Fuelly app over the past 4 years which automatically syncs to my signature below (19.5 mpg 80% city driving)
