Aftermarket Warranty

My CPO just expired. Took the car in for inspection beforehand and all checked out. Looking for an extended warranty for a few more years of coverage. I wasn't planning on keeping it much longer but the wife loves her car.

Since it expired that lets out any BMW extension.
A lot of people recommend Route 66.

Looks like Route 66 is only sold thru finance corporations.

I've been looking for the same...

GWC is also not sold direct to consumer... only thru dealers. They are also don't cover OEM parts replacement, only refurbished or used. I also read that they cover $70/hr for labor. My market charges around $100.

My SA hates route 66 for some reason so I didn't go for it. I have members choice auto warranty, CUNA I believe. 8 months after I purchased it and dealer replaced upper and lower oil pans, valve cover, and strut arms, both. Without warranty, my out of pocket is $4700. I paid $2750 with $250 deductible. The term is additional 60 months with 100k on the meter. Gold pkg should be sufficient. It worked out for me fortunately .

I purchased mine through MAP (Motorist Assurance plan) via the BMW Sales Rep. It does the same thing as the BMW Platinum one but was like $2k cheaper.

Have you had to use GWC before? I have it and wonder if they are a pain?

Yes, but if you open say a $5 account at a eligible credit union you are good to go.
Head over to www.bimmerfest.com and look it up for many many good stories.

That's what I did. Just reach out to Route 66 and they'll point you to a local credit union. I opened an account, dropped the minimum amount in the bank account, and signed up for Route 66

I did the same on one of my cars after the CPO expired. I shopped around and found a lot of credit unions carry Route 66 and found prices can differ by a few hundred for the same coverage.

Route 66 is extremely essy to work with. I have used them over the years with several of my cars and have had zero issues. They currently just agreed to pay the difference of myengine replacement due to oil consumption that bmw isnt covering. Cant say enough good things about route 66 and tge zero deductable is nice aswell

I have GWC they are pretty good just that they pay only $70hr for the job and anywhere you take the car is $100hr so you will have to pay the difference unless you know your mechanic and tell them that you don't feel like paying anything out of your pocket.

I had my axle and my wheel bearing replace with no problem.

For Route 66 $2500-$3200. Google and you can get instant quotes online from some credit unions.

No problemo. Note that there is a big difference between Route66's "Easy Street" and "Main Street" coverage. "Main Street" can still leave you susceptible to very expensive non-covered repairs.

I also have a Route 66 policy. Provident CU is in northern CA and was easy to work with. When I was researching, I found that some of the other better reviewed companies do not sell policies in CA.
