Chassis Stabilization error after MHD flash

I flashed my 2013 535i today with MHD stage 1 map and after the flash I am getting a Chassis Stabilization error. This is preventing drive modes from being selected and keeps the car in comfort mode. I contacted MHD and they said

“this happens only on older 5 Series. You need to update your DSC module with bmw tools, a very old software is installed on your car. “

Has anyone run into the same issue? One shop I contacted didn’t seem to understand this. Can someone explain exactly what needs to be done?

Just get everything update in one go rather than just doing one module such as DME, TCU, etc...

Was not a problem on my 2013 535 PWG...I'm the third owner, first was a lease, second owner was cpo...maybe the dealer had updated my software at some point. I can check my software version if it'd help you, just let me know how to do it

Update:

I got the car back from the shop and they were able to remove the chassis stabilization error after updating firmware for all modules.

I re-flashed stage 1 map and no chassis stabilization! So for anyone that experiences this the fix is to update your ECU to latest from BMW. Apparently it is rare as I was only the 3rd person to report this to MHD.

Thanks to MHD and ABR in Houston for resolving this!

I had this same issue. I spent $250 to have the dealer do a software update on the entire car. No issues since then.

Was there anything else worthwhile about the software update?

How do we know if we’re on the up to date version?

I got the same error after flashing MHD Stage 2. I have a 2011 myself. The error did go away, but if there is some older firmware that needs to be updated, I should probably get it taken care of.
