99% of the time I will back in, only pull in forward if I am running late/in an extreme hurry.

Anyway, all but one of my cars have low front spoilers and no front parking sensors. So I always back in unless i am going to hold up traffic unreasonably

Damn near ALWAYS!

Why??? Because it is much easier to get as close as possible to the median or curb on my side to give my passenger side as much room as possible for inconsiderate, dumbasses that may park too close.

Damn near 100% of the time for a few reasons...

1. It became a habit while driving a pickup for about 10 years where you basically have to back in.
2. It is safer and easier when you are leaving.
3. It is easier to get my wheels alllll the way to the edge of the curb in end spots.
4. I have a camera on the back but not on the front. I only had to hit the front lip on a curb once to learn that lesson

Most every time since I've done it for decades and it feels natural.

I only back in when my car tags are expired. Or I am using stolen car tags, driving a stolen car, or have pending arrest warrants and own the car. That tag readers or a busy cop will find them.... Jokes.

really only a certain group of people back in for no good reason. Criminals, cops and firemen. Criminals to hide car tags. Cops to be able to respond quickly.

Here in the UK. If you're backing out of a space and you hit someone then it's automatically your fault - your insurance has to cover third party. So I always back into spaces as it's easier to drive off.

I find it hilarious that people are suggesting that it's somehow indicitve of criminal activity to back into a parking spot.

Only at home and at work.

Once I backed into a spot at a shopping mall... And got a ticket for doing so.

Now that its been brought up... I swear to God...

Last year, I also got a ticket for backing into a spot in Downtown Lodi, California (small, quaint farming/winery town in the central valley).

I literally almost had a melt down. Turns out that its illegal because at night time... cars coming down the streets cant see your taillights as you back out!

Are you fucking kidding me!!!! What about my headlights!!!!!

I paid the ticket but would honestly like to strangle the D-Bag responsible for this by-law.

A better question is... What about the WHITE Reverse Lights that cars are all equipped with?

That's some bullshit for sure.

Really though... it is

Found the by-law on City of Lodi webiste:

To actually enforce this by reaching further into peoples pocket who actually come downtown to spend money at establishments as well as PAID PARKING is atrocious.
