Walnut blasting before and after

I had my 2012 535 serviced a few weeks ago. I had a few others things serviced also. The car has 43k miles on it. I wanted to get it walnut blasted. The shop I went to did reccomend that I didn’t need it done at this milage, but I did it anyway for my piece of mind. I’ve attached before and after videos so you guys can see the build up. It wasn’t that bad at all and I could have waited till 60k or so. So for you guys on the fence about getting walnut blasting at lower milage this may help.

There was absolutely no reason to do a walnut blast on your car.

I've pulled the intake manifold on 125k N55's with no tool marks on the nuts (first one to have it off) and not had any more deposits than what you had. What amounts to little more than surface film isn't harming anything, N54's get so bad they physically restrict air flow and cause reduced power and lousy idle.

N55's do not need walnut blasting.

It cost me 250, but I had other things done also. Not sure of stand alone cost.

Stuck, yea I agree it didn’t need it. That’s why I’m putting this out there as a FYI.

Your car looks sick. What mods do you have?

Very basic mods. I still drive with my wife & kids in this thing, so don’t want to get too crazy.

OEM 343’s
M-Performance lip- replica
M5 double slat grill
BMS JB+
M-performance exhaust
AFE intake

At what mileage do you recommend having this done on an n55?

Huh? He said at the end of his post: "N55's do not need walnut blasting."

Nice looking car. Is that front lip painted black, or is the matte black? I think I've seen it on eBay but always wondered if it needed to be painted to look good.

It’s an eBay lip, matte black.
