I'll make this short and to the point. I, like many other n63 owners paid a good amount for the ARM intake. Now, the intake is great quality and I'm not saying anything negative about it.

But........I decided to try something i haven't seen done and it worked perfectly. I ordered the intake ducts from an x5m which point forward and installed them with an maf housing from a chevy cruz and a cone air filter. It sounds much better than the ARM intake, definitely has smoother throttle response, and only cost half the price.

X5m intake ducts on amazon-$165 for both
Maf from Chevy cruz- $80 for both
Cone air filter-$60 for both
Total- $305

Pics below. I am planning to extend them into the front grills later. One of the biggest advantages Is I can now change sparkplugs and coils without removing anything.

I know my filters look a little beat up and they are going to be replaced shortly.

3" maf with a 3" silicone spacer to fit the intake ducts. I cut a 3" coupling I had laying around. I couldn't find a 3.25" maf housing. Simple modification though.

Make sure if you buy cone filters and plan to install them as I have that you find 3" inlet, but they need to be slim filters. The standard wide cone wont fit unless you delete the oem sway bars

I cant emphasize how much smoother the throttle is and how much stronger the n63 sounds with this set up. The ARM intake made the divertor louder as well as made the n63 sound better, but you can tell with this set up that it was still restricting the intake.

These intake ducts are larger in diameter so the engine cover wont fit, but it is worth it so far.

Thanks for the information. I just ordered the adaptors on Amazon and the filtered X5 intake tubes. I found the X5 intakes at ECS for $61 each.

Make sure your cone filters are slim/square. The common ones that are wide at the inlet and taper down wont fit.

Also, be careful if your PCV hoses are old as you will have to pull and stretch to contort the two connections onto each duct. A couple times I stood back and scratched my head. It all eventually snapped together and worked great, but a couple frustrated moments for sure.

I just did this on my N63TU 6-series. Pain in the butt to get the intake tubes in and bolted but getting the drivers side crankcase ventilation tube to line up and click in place was a nightmare. Removed a metal plate at the top which helped a little bit. Glad I did this as everything feels smoother and found some issues. I had one bolt not fully tight on the old intake inlet and both had a crazy amount of wiggle to them. Also found my crankcase valves failed as oil was seen in them and the turbo air intake. Ordered a new set as well as new DV. Pretty sure one of mine is leaking.
