Warranty shopping on a low-mileage '16 550i

I'm picking up a '16 550i w/ 16,xxx miles next week and have been (lightly) researching warranty companies. Specifically to the 550i N63T owner's in the group--which warranty companies do you hate? Who do you love??? Reading better than average things about Route 66 and have heard Fidelity are good to work with but I'm also looking for owner's who have had horror stories when a repair or diagnostic has not been covered. I don't plan to put any more than maybe 6k-8k miles/year on it but I would definitely like to have some peace of mind during ownership, given some of the systemic issues these engines have.

I researched the same for my '16 550i that had about 30k miles on it when I bought it last year. I have not had to use it yet, but the Route 66 plan was by far the least expensive with the most features. For example, you can transfer the plan to someone else if you sell the car…or you can get a prorated refund if you just want to cancel.

Looks like you have to go through a financial institution in order to obtain one of their warranties?

Yes. I joined a credit union just for this purpose. They require I keep a minimum of $200 in an account.

Email Route 66 and they'll give you credit union(s) in your area that sell it. I only had to open an account with $1 to buy the warranty, transfer the money to pay for it, all from home. Easy.
