According to my SA, you can't update the combox and BMW will not be providing a upgrade combox because they don't think the cost to build one is worth it. According to him, we're all SOL. Can't get through to BMW either. On hold for an hour, the system then asks if you would like a callback and not lose your place in line. Callback never comes. Way to keep you customers happy BMW...
The failed oil seals in my 4.8is, the never correct roof in my 335is convertible, and now this. Looks like my wife and I will be moving on to another brand.

Yeah... If a solution isn't found in the next couple of months there's a better than even chance we'll be buying a Genesis G70.

I think you guys need to put this debate to bed and accept the fact that ConnectedDrive is dead. If there was ever a slither of hope that BMW would do something about it, you can bet that COVID has completely killed it. With the global chip shortage, BMW (and all other manufactures) are being strategic about where they get deployed. The fact that touchscreens are being removed from current lineups says it all. There is absolutely zero incentive for them to shift focus away from their current/future development and retrofit older cars with updated technology.

We're just looking for an aftermarket work-around. Or the ability to use existing technology (updated iDrive) to update our cars at our own expense.

To make matters worse, there are precious few used G30's (other than the 4-banger) available. Especially with my requirements... comfort seats, HUD and m-sport.

Well, we purchased our G30 none too soon. The traffic info and BMW online disappeared this afternoon. The 2014 doesn't even get the old FM based traffic info.

I am LOVING the G30 540i though! Got my Valentine V1 installed and running yesterday.

Do those of you who tried the Navituning solution have any reports on its functionality? Anyone had problems installing it or with it negatively effecting you cars in any way? I'd appreciate any feedback you can provide. Thanks.

It installed fine for me and worked for a couple of months, then stopped working. I haven't reached out to them yet, but I'm assuming something was turned off on the back end (BMW traffic servers).

2017 F11 with 3G connection. Not used connected drive services for a while but appears to be working albeit somewhat limited - No store, Spotify etc

Is the depreciated functionality limited to certain regions or should I expect the same to happen in my car too? RTTI is still active

Is 3G still active in the UK? BMW removed access to the store from the car a few years ago, in the US anyway, for "safety reasons."

I believe BMW use the Vodafone network in the UK which will phase out 3G from 2023.
