New Owner here.
Hello everyone. We recently picked up a 2014 535 with 66k on it. My wife will be driving it instead of the Suburban when it’s just her and our daughters. She loves the interior and all the extras. I don’t have any major plans for it, just the regular maintenance and guaranteed oil leaks and maybe a tune. Planning on knocking out the VC, OFH, OC gaskets along with the transmission filter and fluid within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully I’ll learn all I need to here and get a picture or two uploaded this evening.

Congratulations and welcome! They're solid cars and the 535i is pretty much the bread and butter of the F10. It sounds like you've got a good hold on things maintenance wise too. All the best! Waiting for the pictures.

Hopefully they upload. Not very sunny but the space gray looks good to us.

Congrats on the purchase. IMHO:
If you have not already done so, find and independent shop that specializes in Euro makes or simply BMW. They will save you huge money compared to the dealer. Change all the fluids; brakes, tranny, AWD, differentials, steering, even the blinker fluid. I'd replace the spark plugs in three months so you can notice the difference with the new set. Many of us change the motor oil every 5 - 7k. I bought a CPO '13 with 28k. By the time I hit 60k, I had all these things done and each was noticeable and worthwhile. Many of the oils that came out of the car were black and consumed. Just kidding about the blinker fluid. Last edited by ChiNorm; 01-26-2022 at 04:03 PM.. Reason: things I forgot. |

Thanks. No worries on the maintenance as I do all our maintenance and mechanic work for us and a few neighbors/kinfolk. I do realize it’s not domestic and have the equipment needed for service. Should have the parts this weekend along with some fresh oil. I will probably hold off on any power mods for a while as it is quit nice as it sits. Maybe upgrade the IC just to help with the IATs and do a transmission service.
