Mileage is about 48,000.

Three separate occurrences in the past ten months.

1. June 2022 - After long interstate drive, exited and stopped at red light. Car "stuttered" when I started moving again, and was lacking power for about 1/2 mile until I stopped again at the next red light (I did not not turn off the engine). This time, it accelerated and ran fine and there were no more issues for several months.

2. October 2022 - Slow ride up a steep curvy hill, car began "stuttering" while still in motion and lacked power. Stopped car, left engine running, started moving again, no change. Stopped car, turned off engine, restarted, everything was fine again.

3. October 2022 (just a few days later) - Similar conditions to #2, stopped car, left engine running but this time it was fine when I started moving again.

This has not happened since October, although I haven't used it much over the winter. No issues with starting or idle or acceleration over a wide range of driving speeds and loads and conditions.

I don't mind if this happens occasionally, but I don't want it to be a sign of a more serious problem that will strand me some day.

Any ideas?

You need to read the diagnostic trouble codes, using BimmerLink or Carly or your favorite app/scanner.

I use ProTool. I wasn't lucky enough to have it running during these three events, but scanning after the fact showed nothing.
