Changed front right soft close motor and started to build LCW wiring harness. Next step is to take rear bumper off and run rest of the wires to car and then some coding to see if it works.

finally got around to getting my exhaust completed!

rear muffler delete and quad tips from a totaled 550i, then the diffuser is from ali express...(fitment sucked)

Might try and use an oem diffuser and add the diffuser fins in the middle if I can.. we will see!

May not be the most popular mod, but im a sucker for trying to clean things up while I'm already "in there".

Doing a VVT actuator on my '14 535i m sport w/6speed manual @115k miles. Ordered all new plugs, valve cover and hoses, etc. And figured a paint matched valve cover might clean up the engine bay a bit!

And yes, that is my downstairs bathroom that we are going to be renovating soon. So I turned it into a paint booth before we demo it all haha set up a blower from the outside vent to pull air out of the fart fan, worked out pretty well.

Got all the paint at my local oreillys, they can fill almost any factory paint code into to aerosol cans and they now stock a true 2k clear in a can as well with the popper on the bottom, turned out pretty sweet.

Used nitrile glove fingers to cover all hose holes and ear plugs to cover up all screw holes, taped the bolts over.

So here's my carbon black n55 valve cover before and after.

Started routing the wires for the LCW. It's nearly done... Everything else is done but I still need run +12v wire and connect earth, then I can try to code it.

I'm curious how that paint will last, I have used 2k clear in the can before... it's good stuff...only on engine covers,.. but it lasted so far... never did a valve cover...lets see pics after a few thousand miles

Got all wiring done but can't get the 0x03 flexray port to open. With ISTA flexray init will finish fine but it won't open the port for SSW. It shows up red in ISTA and does not show up on E-SYS.

Changed HC2 to different flexray port and got it online and coded to the car. Got wiring tucked in nicely and bumper back on.

Let's go for a test drive and it works, video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/bLEGyQQKetW6QrUY9

Grabbed a JBE and donor harness to retrofit the rear sunshade. Added bonus is tons of spare wire and the exact connectors I need to complete the job.

Trim blackout continues. Decided to try my hand at vinyl wrapping for the first time. Took a few tries and I ended up with probably a 6/10 job. I'll either try again another time or pick up some gloss ones in the near future but for now these will suffice.

Modified F40 frameless rear view mirror to fit in to prelci f10.

Used two small screws to hold the bigger ball in place and modified plastic surrounding the mirror.

New downpipe came in today. I went to install it and one of my bolts snapped that attached it to a hanger so I was pretty much screwed cause I didn’t have the necessary tools to get it out. I brought it to a shop, they got it unstuck, got my old cat out and put in my vrsf catless downpipe. Honestly it sounds great. The spool is amazing as well is the sheer loudness of the car. Barely any drone surprisingly as well and I think because of the fact that I got new gaskets and clamps for the downpipe, it doesn’t smell at all inside the car, even at a stoplight with windows down! Super happy with how it turned out. Those burbles in between shifts is just great, it perfectly fits the turbo works mufflers I have installed.

Also I got it done earlier today and pretty much drove the rest of the day cause I couldn’t get over how good it sounded, I noticed a little bit of rattle, as if something was loose, but it seems to have gone away I think? Can’t really tell because it’s the first day but I’m assuming it just needs to settle. But aside from that, everything is great! Anddd, no cel yet either! I’m not tuned and I didn’t install any spacers so it’s great! I’m assuming it might come on it a bit but I drove quite a bit today and still no cel so we will see! Next step… chargepipe, tune and maybe something else.

I have something really big planned that I’m thinking of doing to my car that apparently only a handful of people have done to their f10 535i in terms of customization. I think it would be sick.. lmk if you’re interested in finding out what it is!

I'm interested. Let us know.

I hope it's a performance transmission upgrade!
If time and money were no object this is what I'd do on my (F10) 15' 535i
Now that would be sick.

Yea the bolts for the hangers of the DP looooooooove breaking. Pretty much require heat + penetrating oil if you don't want to break them.

It will likely throw a CEL soon, it takes a bit for the readiness checks to set and thus throw the CEL.

Honestly I have yet to see someone on the 5/6/7 platform do one of the pure transmission upgrades. It's just hilariously expensive.

Has anyone tried installing CSL style carbon trunk on F10? I pulled a trigger and bought it yesterday, but not quite sure how it looks on the car (in my imagination it should look nice &#128064. If anyone has it please share some photos, will post mine once it arrives

I bought my car with a JR stg 2(deletes) tune on it.
Its been great with no issues, but I noticed that the power really seemed to drop off past 3rd gear... anyways talking to a different tuner, he suggested that do some data logs to see if there was something wrong..

Turns out I'm running close to stock boost in 4th gear.

I guess the problem lays with my altitude (3,430ft above sea level)... the JR tune doesnt adjust the maps for the elevation.

I ended up with another tune (DUDMD). Did some logs and finalized on a tune for my elevation.

The difference is NIGHT and DAY from the previous tune. I was not expecting to feel much of a difference for just switching software.

Big thumbs up for DUDMD for their N57 Tune!
