How long do they take so settle??
2-3 weeks of daily driving should do it. You should see small difference as soon as you install them

Hi guys - I'm already sold on the H&R springs. Going for the 1.5" drop.

My question relates to wheel spacers.. are you guys running wheel spacers with the drop? If so, do you get any rubbing against your fenders?

I'm on a 535i M sport suspension, and I just want to be sure I'm not going to create a headache for myself.

Thanks!

-Mike

I am running the HR springs on M sport suspension with 20" wheels, 12mm front spacers, and 18mm rear spacers. No rubbing.

Although the quality is great, I would like my front a little lower. Will likely swap the springs for the adjustable to be honest.

Looks great, what wheels/spec are these?

I'm getting the adjustable H&R springs installed pretty soon. I think they are like $700, I'll post pics when its installed.

Yesterday I put H&R with M sport shock absorber. It's very comfort with 21 inch.

This looks like the right place to post H&R stuff. I plan to do this very mod on my 2012 535i MSport factory 19" 351M wheels.

I, like many, will be using H&R Springs, Bilstein B8's and ordered a set of spacers, 12mm and 15mm.

Will post pics once I have them installed. They're sitting in my garage and my back is just begging me not to do it yet...much like the previous F10 owners I bought my new in box parts from..

H&R Springs, Factory Msport 19" wheel spacers

Took some time, but job done. I also got wheel spacers, but not sure you can tell from the pictures here. The job itself wasn't impossible, but it was very difficult. A couple comments I'll make about it though have to do with what happens when you've pulled the stock rear strut out of the rear end. I pulled the lower arm out of the way to do it, but when you pull that strut, the lower control arm will push itself up. No biggie right? Wrong! Once you've put the lowering spring into the rear strut and you go to insert the strut into the arm and upper perch, you'll find the lower control arm can't be forced low enough to fit the large bolt through the strut and into the arm. I tried a couple different things, but bottomline, make sure you have a bottlejack (small one) handy so you can use that to force the lower control arm to lower enough to make the strut fit. I used a combination of two smaller floor jacks and it wasn't pretty, let's just say.

Another comment I'll make is that I had the intention of installing H&R springs and Bilstein B8 shocks/struts. Unfortunately, when I went to pull the OEM shock, it turned out I had EDC. So I hit a crossroad. Do I install the bilsteins and H&R combo and then deal with coding out EDC (something I've not yet learned how to do) OR Do I install the H&R springs and use the stock shocks/struts. I opted to keep the stock shocks, but will keep the bilsteins (or sell them) and do this job again later if I don't like the resulting ride.

Lastly, and at least for my 535i, many DIY'ers discuss having to remove something from the driver's side to access the upper control arm bolt, but as you can see from the picture below, my 535i didn't have this part. I had direct access to the upper control arm bolts on both sides.

One piece of advice I'll also give is please be sure you torque/tighten every single bolt, particularly the strut/shock top bolts and the 3 surrounding bolts. In my case, after I lowered my car and drove around I had a ton of clanking and vibrations coming from what seemed like all 4 corners. What solved this issue for me was when I went to recheck the strut bolts, sure enough they were loose.

After a couple weeks of driving, the ride has settled a bit, but I wouldn't say my drop has been that remarkable. The ride itself has actually been the same as before, maybe you feel the road a little more but definitely negligible. I would say at this point, I'm looking at close to a 1.25" drop on all 4 corners. I'm also using 15mm rear spacers and 12mm front spacers.

Next project - picked up an ambient LED kit for the interior from Amazon. Should be a much easier install, hopefully. Haven't tackled programming in ESYS yet, but I do have the cable...

The "settling" that happens is mainly the suspension's rubber bushings gradually giving up under torsion, eventually deforming. This is also the reason the rear suspension fights you so much; it wants to go back to its original position.

Loosening all the bushing bolts and re-tightening with the car sitting on the ground skips the settling process, probably increases the life of the bushings, and may give you slightly more drop. Ramps are necessary to do this if you don't have a 4-post lift.

Otherwise, nice work!
