Bringing this back because I think I accidentally bought m6 343m wheels for my f10. Downsized the tires from 295 to 285 thinking this would've made it more flush but it still sticks out quite a bit. The car rides smoothly and I usually never have many people with me so rubbing isn't an issue. Is it safe to keep running this set up?

Those are either M6's or reps with non-OEM offsets. I thought it was the angle in your other photos, but with these photos I can 100% say that no way they're genuine M5 343's. Even your front wheels are poking a bit. They should be safe to run, your paint will suffer tho because of how much they poke out of the wheel well.

Thanks for dropping in and checking the pictures out for me again. Super disappointed that I didn't catch this sooner when I bought them but I took the sellers word. I haven't had any issues with the paint yet, it's been a few months, but maybe I might find out down the road.. I just got new Michelin tires today which weren't cheap so I do need to stick with the setup for now. Feels a bit uncomforting to not have any idea on what the offset and wheel widths are now after doing much research.

Stick a tape measure through the spokes to measure the barrel width. If it's 9.5 and 10.5 front and back, then at least you know they're probably M6 wheels and you'll know the rough offsets. Where did you buy them from? Forums?

There's really no reason you can't unmount the tires and mount them on M5's, the tires will fit fine. You'll just need to go through the hassle of selling your old wheels.

I just bolted on OE 343M wheels to my 2011 550i MSport with stock suspension for a test fit.

Tires are 305/30/20 and 275/35/20.

No need for spacers anywhere. There are about 5-6 mms to the front caliper from the rim center/hub. I don't see the caliper deflecting that much under load. I tried a few hard stops and no marks on the caliper or rim.

I think the 343m rims are perfect for this car as is. The 305 tires seem like they *may* clear the fender if camber changes favorably under compression but I did not drive the car long enough with people in it to test. I see that some posters reported 295s rubbing but not sure about the F10 model (and if the hub spacing is different on a 550i compared to other models). I am planning to go with 295/30 and 265/35. I will have the rims finished back in OE machined silver first; don't like the all black look.

UPDATE: I replaced the front hubs because the bearings were done and the front wheels rubbed slightly on the calipers. Either the new hubs were speced a bit differently(more likely) or whatever corrosion/dust was on the previous hubs acted as a spacer by 1-2 mm (I doubt it). So, I had to get 3mm spacers and they work fine.

I had the wheels powder coated champagne. Looks much better than black. Winter tires on; 265/275. These wheels are perfect for the 550 and will also look good on my M5. And, yes, I can actually feel the weight difference compared to the OEM 20" cast wheels.

265/275 combo looks better than 275/305 combo in my opinion. The wider setup definitely pokes a little.

Agreed. 265/285 would also look fine. 275/305 was too much indeed.

M5 343M wheels are a perfect fit for the 535i M Sport. For the aesthetics of matched diameter and sidewall height I chose 255/295.

Front: 255/35/R20
Rear: 295/30/R20

How much rear camber do you have? Looks like a lot but it's hard to tell for sure from that pic.

What tires are those? They look pretty stretched for a 295 on a 10" wheel.

I ask because your fit looks great, but most people with 295 rear on 343m have rubbing issues and have to add camber to clear.

They are Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) Alpina homologation, and I just took a look at the service receipt for the alignment and it doesn't have the read outs but I remember looking at their screen and they were within factory specification. Maybe it's because the Pirelli has a smaller section width and tread width than something like a Michelin Pilot Sport 4S even though they are both size 295/30/R20.

am planning to switch to 343 M5 20" ,my car is 2014 550i RWD F10 not msport, i currently run 464m 20" wheels which heavy and feeling tight steering and less braking. can u post some pic abt rubbing and wt is the mm on spacers you installed?

Question

Read through the thread and wanted to double-check before committing.

2016 LCI F10 xDrive 535d optimal spacerless 343M tire fitment:

F 245/35/20
R 285/30/20


I am not looking for a stretched look and hoping 245 won't be stretched. Should I opt for the 255 fitment instead or leave as-is? Thanks for all the posts.

245 will look a tiny bit stretched, but not that much. 285 will be almost perfectly squared up sidewall. 275 will be as well.

You can also run a 245/40/20 F and 285(or 275)/35/20, if you want some more sidewall. More sidewall helps with the front looking a bit less stretched. I personally run 245/40/20 F 275/35/20 R, and experience no rubbbing even when lowered pretty aggressively on my KW v3's.
