Iphone usb issues
Hi
I have a iPhone 4 connected via USB and recently the tracks started jumping. Has anyone else had this? I have no idea where to start diagnosing the issue. |

I am using the original one, i have been playing with it for over an hour... there is a pattern but i can't quite figure it out. If i stream music via bluetooth it doesn't jump/pause. When i plug it in after rebooting the iphone and starting the car from cold it doesn't SEEM to jump however and this i really can't fathom if its my imagination.... I THINK that IF it is not jumping and i fiddle with the iDrive i.e. switch to satnav it jumps/pauses. If i could make it consistant i would be onto something!

Same here !

I haven't figured out how to solve it. Sometimes it seems to work fine and sometimes the jumps occur every 30 seconds or so. I thought it was related to changing phone cell towers but apparently it's not so. Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Regards, Elie |

I did some more tests today. - A freshly started iPhone 4 (4.1) with no background tasks does the music skipping thing - If i have an App running in the foreground (i used Navigon) the music plays falwlessly in the background. Maybe You can point that out to Your dealer tomorrow. Keep me posted, Regards, Elie |

Went to dealer today, got a hmmmmmmmmmm response. They are calling BMW HQ to see if they have heard of this. I told them about the above and we tried it but with intermittent results. Its back in tomorrow... will send another update out then

Why would they do that?
If they do that, they cannot charge BMW for warranty repairs other than inspection and diagnosis. I don't think any dealers would forfeit reimbursement that they are entitled to. |

I work in the it industry by trade and I have often thought the car is missing the ability to reboot, would probably clear a lot of bugs |

Not sure how to do a reboot though. On my old E39 20 minutes with the battery disconnected would do the trick. Not sure I want to try this on the F10. A see that a software update from http:// www.bmw.com/update through the USB results in a reset (upgradedoc). Not sure how this will work if already on latest version, but it might be worth a try in case of issues. |
