My 535i includes the Nav system. It can play DVD movies as long as the parking brake is turned on. Just put a disc in the slot in the dash.

If You have the combox, You don't need the Y cable at all ! You just use a plain iPhone USB iPhone cable (the one that came with Your iPhone that You use for syncs and recharge) and suddenly Your all Your music is digital (no more analog conversion from Your headphone jack) However, i haven't been able to play movies from my iPhone to the display in my car. The sound of the movie is played and a still image appears on the screen but that's it. BMW has 2 pending items : - An audio/video iPhone 4 cradle snap-in (P/N 84 21 2 199 392) that should be available in december. - The iPOD/iPhone Video OUT software update due on 03/11 that should bring many features of iOS to the car thru a USB software update. I'm anxiously waiting for both Kind regards, Elie |

I'd be interested to know if there is an override for the park/safety feature. |

Does it just override the safety of not allowing DVD to play without the parking break on? Will it also allow video to be streamed from an iPhone while car is in motion? Thanks and sorry for all the questions. |

Yeah, any idea why's that? I don't intend to watch a DVD while driving but whoever is sitting in the passenger seat and even kids from the back seat surely would?
