Talking Another LSturbointeg project!

Wasssssssssuuuuuuppppp! So i just spent 4 more hours polishing up "Black Kandy" and now I'm home but I've been meaning to get this new project going. So I really wanted my W style roof spoiler to be carbon fiber and I couldn't get myself to fork over $350+ for it so decided to go with the PU style. So I ordered the 5d glossy carbon fiber vinyl and being the crafty guy i am i'm going to wrap it! At the same token I'm going to wrap my mirror caps as well! I'll use Chemical Guys Clean Slate to remove all the old wax from the mirror covers. I'll post some pictures when I'm done.

Nice. You'll need a good heat gun and a lot of patience. Let us know how it works out

Ummm from looking at the time stamp on the pictures I posted about 3 hours for the roof spoiler alert and 2.5 hours for the mirror. Its a lot of heating, stretching and squeeging the air bubbles out but I was watching movies at the same time. So probably would have been faster if I wasn't watching

I've been considering doing my roof in the 5d carbon fiber wrap. Should be pretty easy to do since its a flat surface. Where did you get your material from?

One continuous piece I'm currently working on the 2nd one as I'm typing this. Also, gonna wrap the side marker lights and that little piece by the fog lights. I'm thinking about doing the roof but I wanna look around the sunroof first to see if the rubber gasket will be an issue?

You should make A diy wrap for the side mirrors. I tried that shit and it was too tough, curves killed me

It's a *itch! Heat gun and stretching is all I gotta say! This one took me 3 hours Not really sure if a DIY would help? Here's the 2nd mirror done. As you can see...one continuous piece being that the mirror cap is OEM this will almost look like the real thing and not just a cover this 5d carbon fiber vinyl you guys looks like the real stuff. Its pretty forgiving when stretching it and heating it. I've read some of the one's on eBay don't fit well

Was wondering when you were going to wrap the mirrors. Did mine back in December. Lots of heat stretch repeat. Took about 2 hours each one. About time to rewrap, damn rock chips from the lovely vbeach interstates. Yours look great, good job.

Great job!!! I tried wrapping my side markers and was defeated so it's very impressive the job you've done on your mirrors.

Usually there's bubbles if you don't smooth it out properly. I just end up relifting the vinyl and smoothing it out with my fingers.
