False Low Coolant Warning?

This warning light has been on for a while, but I'm not low on coolant. It doesn't leak, my engine temp is fine, and I just replaced the sensor today, but it still says I'm low on coolant.

Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas?

Thanks!

BMW 528IX

I have the similar symptoms on my 2014 528i xdrive. After the warning occurred I have changed the level sensor for coolant and its wirings. No joy. After this I checked the error codes and there was a code for thermostat problem. Now the thermostat is changed and also the fluids are new. Still the low coolant message occurs. I tried also the coolant bleeding processes several times and there shouldn't be any air left.. The message is still on!

I would really appreciate all ideas what to do next..

I had same issue and dealer found a micro crack in the coolant expansion tank. New tank and no issues since then, supposedly the crack would only open when coolant was hot and under pressure.

Did you notice any changes on the fluid level before they changed the expansion tank?

Level in the tank was at proper filled level when car gave out random level errors over a 2 week period

Long shot, but any chance you were driving at elevation when you got the error? I had strange coolant issues when driving in the Rockies...

Altitude definitely has an impact. Only time I ever received a coolant low light was when I was in the rockies.
