Okay, over the fence. I'll flash it this weekend and I might even make a video

Surly73, is your MPE yo exhaust enough to hear shifts and burbles with no enoying loud exhaust noises?

That's another question. It's hard to tell over the Internet. I feel my MPE is louder than some and have yet to prove any theories why. With windows closed, highway cruising, 8th gear, long distance I find it annoying. It gets on my nerves, drowns out the bass in my music unless I crank it etc... Windows open and speeds <55mph it sounds pretty good.

With MPE, my MHD Stage 1 tune set to 0.2s of OEM-style burbles, my XHP Stage 2 in M mode (which on my non-DEC car is probably also using Sport+ maps in M mode), it's a pretty nice soundtrack TBH. Downshifts rev match (they did stock too) but with a tiny bit of burble after the downshift, upshifts in M are all quick "brap" shifts. I disabled loud cold starts with MHD too, so there's another annoyance gone.

Most "videos" on XHP show video of the instruments, and people doing WOT runs to 200kph. That doesn't tell me anything I need to know, that's not how I drive. I have done a few changes to my F10 to try to bring back the driving spirit of the E39/E90 and get a more engaging experience, not beat someone in a street race to the next stoplight. MPE+MHD+XHP has done this. The KWv3s are on their way

Off topic--
On the MPE, there were/are multiple part#s for the F10 535. I have the old one 18-30-2-293-447 which came with the single-wall polished tips. It was revised less than a year after release with no reason given other than a guess that it was to sell tips separately and offer multiple varieties of tips. I still haven't determined if the sound was changed.

I've stumbled across threads about the 2/3/4 series and that there are multiple MPE part numbers for different world markets that they don't talk about much. The US one seems loud and open like mine, the European/Canada one is not much louder than stock (but still lists for >$2k). People had no idea that they weren't comparing apples-to-apples until they compared exact part numbers.

Surly, sorry is you already said this but what year and how many miles do you have.

I have Mpe and BMS intake and Mhd tune with 90k miles and was thinking about leaving it alone but the trans tune is tempting.
I drive the 535 as my daily

Side note, I do have an e39 m5 with a corsa exhaust and mid pipe so when I want to rip around for fun I take that...

I mentioned before that XHP eliminated about 50% of turbo lag on F10 535i, actually it is like 90% or more.

With the launch control you can eliminate starting lag (shown on the video below), up shifts are fast and I got 0-60 in almost entirely in the 2nd gear in about 4.6 sec. Hardware wise this is stock car only with charge pipe installed and MHD stage 1 & XHP stage 3 applied

Even I had MHD installed before, XHP really brought this car to life. I would highly recommend XHP.

here is a video

It is great that MHD supports it now. MHD also adds updated sports screens . Both HP and torque used to be 320 on my car

Regular driving you will hit 8th gear VERY QUICK. Especially if your on the highway. Once in SPORT + the car is an animal. The gears switch so dam quick. This mod is great for dig racing as your able to stay in boost while switching gears with minimal lag. Havent tried the other stages yet and dont think i plan on it. Well worth the $350. I flashed using my Galaxy Note 8 and K-DCAN USB attached to it via USB-C. Took me 7mins to install and 2 Mins to flash stg 3. No battery tender

My experience is similar, stage 3 is insane, I do most driving in the stage 2. Installation took 5-6 min, 2 min to flash. Highly recommended

I pulled the trigger last night, car feels lighter and more responsive, I'd go for it if you are on the fence.

I did too, however, I started getting an error when start and stop is enabled. XHP said it's because my transmission ecu is on newer software than the rest of the car. I have to update istep to fix, hopefully. Just in case any one knows they are in old software, you might have that small issue.

Yep - no issues. I believe the warnings in xHP's documentation about throttle mapping is for people who go the other way and have sprint boosters and stuff installed to make the pedal more sensitive

Wow MHD linear throttle is awesome! As soon as I press the accelerator the car response now. Ha I don't need to get Sprint booster no more.

So just for the record - in theory linear throttle mode is less sensitive (and should be slower) than the default program. This is even more true for those with SPORT and SPORT+ mode that "enhances" throttle response.

I like linear throttle too because it's always the same, nice and predictable and (in theory more than practice at my age in the F10) easier to modulate when driving in a spirited manner.

I found that the extra power from MHD stage 1 made up for any "slower" pedal response versus full stock, and the bottom 40% or so of the pedal travel is where the extra MHD power is.

For me when I press the throttle the car response right away... Before I would press the throttle and car would have a delay to engage from a dead stop... That delay is gone... Plus for me now less throttle makes the car jump rpms quicker.

The dead stop improvement might be more xHP tightening up the timing on the torque convertor - you did both, right?

First I did xHP only and that didn't make a difference with dead stop issues but few days ago when I did linear throttle option in MHD than it made a huge difference. Also, I just need little push to the throttle to get the car up to speed. I don't know if throttle opens up quicker or what. Regardless, I am happy that the dead stop delay is gone from my car now.

Went back to stock throttle... Linear throttle doesn't have the aggressiveness... It feels tamed and lame for turbo charged car... I was like something is missing and than I realize the fun factor was missing of stock throttle map.

In response to my own response above, updating DME to latest istep did resolve my issue. It added another issue because afterwards, another ECU decided it wanted to join the party, but updated that ECU too and now it is all good.

MHD+xHP= a lot of fun now.

Hey guys question, I’m considering I’m getting the xph trans tune! I have bootmod3 3 stage 2 and the bootmod3 trans tune. I was wondering if xph will work with the bm3 stage 2. Obviously I will need to remove the bm3 trans tune! Thank you!

Yes it will. I have used XHP with BM3 S2 previously. Now running a custom tune with it. Trans tune really improves shift and feel of the trans. I leave my trans in S2 for daily use and S3 when I go for an occasional track day.

The Sports Display on BM3 OTS map will show you 480HP and 560TQ. You have to flash one of BM3's maps to see it. When I flash Cary's custom map, I only get 400HP and 400TQ.
