Considering moving to a square setup - Need advice.
Greetings,
I am considering moving from a staggered setup to a square setup and wanted to ask advice from the group. Here's what I've got: 535dx m-sport on staggered style 351M 19" x 8.5" Fr & 19" x 9.0" Rr double-spoke wheels with P245/40R19 Fr & P275/35R19 Rr Looking to move to: Square setup with either: 8.5Jx20 ET33 or 9Jx20 ET44 Here are my questions: 1. Which rim size and offset is better for xdrive? 2. Which wheel would allow me the largest tire? I was hoping to go with 255/35R20 non-runflats all around. Goals are to have a good balance of traction, ride quality and handling while being able to maximize tire duration. I also want to fill in the gap in the wheel well and tire. I plan to upgrade to either ACS springs or KW Var3 coils at some point, so it will be lower a bit. Thanks! |

Are you considering aftermarket wheels, or only OEM wheels?

as far as x-Drive, the only stipulation was the fronts and rear had to be within 1% of rotating mass. if you're going staggard that would be important but Since you are looking for a square setup that shouldn't be an issue. IMO the wider the better. can't beat more rubber on the road to put more power down or to grip in cornering. can't go wrong with 9 wide. 255 tires would be better paired with a 9 inch wide |

Here's what I'm thinking, 20x9 et 44 all the way around with 255/35/20. My question is whether or not the fronts will rub with that large of offset. I'm thinking it won't, but wanted to seek advice from others. I plan to lower to either coils or ACS springs (1-2" drop). |

& Remmib is the fitment god on the forums (his fitment is textbook perfect) and he is running 20x9 +26 in the front. I've read no complaints about him from rubbing. (Between the two is the holy grail of fender to lip flush fitment for non M5 F10 fitment IMO) I have 21x9+35 on the way and I plan on immediately putting on 10mm spacers on the front. Since your offset isn't as aggressive you should have NO issues with your setup. the only reason for doubt is if you have big brakes on her. If you don't your in the clear. btw different tires have different sidewall beef (like how thick and bulky it is) tires make a difference as well. BUT in your instance, you have plenty of room. Good luck brotha! your setup sounds like a really good tuck fitment great for bags! Last edited by Flyguyin23; 03-03-2019 at 08:35 PM.. |

255/35/20 fits very well on 9'' wide wheels. But ET44 is not a good fitment in the front, and as others have mentioned, I'm not sure it's clears the inside. Of course some spacers will fix that.

Need help please..20inch +40 offset wheels tucked
I just got 20x8.5 ET40 for my 2015 528xi which originally is stocked with 17x8 ET30. The recommended specs for it are 20x8.5 ET33 so it's a 7mm difference in space they're currently tucked and it looks kinda goofy so what size spacers might I need for both front and back? The spacers I saw start at 10mm so maybe go 15mm in the rear and 10mm in the front? I'm not really sure how far I can push it without having problems.
