Another day of bimmerpost slowness. Unusable.

Probably going to go unacknowledged again by the site admins. This website and mobile app are consistently unusable day in and day out. Wtf is going on and why do we not get any PSA?

Yeah - it has been horrific for months now.

I understand that issues can arise, and as this isn't a pay site, I understand that there isn't much we really have a right to - but I would think that simply a "we're aware of the problem and working to correct it" comment from the admins would certainly be warranted.

I think there's one mod and one admin on this whole site, and he's busy making shit posts about sexual innuendo in advertising.

It's pretty much always like this. Rarely does it operate at normal speeds.

able to actually get on the site now, 4:15pm, speed still not normal but faster than yesterday, still can't post pics.

Edit: 8:00pm same day, site seems pretty normal now.

Time to move the site(s) off of (assuming) Softlayer dedicated servers over to something more scalable like AWS.

(I do this kind of stuff for a living, feel free to reach out if you need an AWS certified consultant)

Glad I finally saw this. Site's been painstakingly slow for a month now. Makes for a very poor experience, to the point where I visit quite a bit less.

Yup I've noticed it too. It seems to take 20+ seconds to load the site from an empty window regardless of internet connection type, device, and internet speed. Then navigating the site also seems to take some time on occasion, but it does feel sluggish to navigate the site ~5 seconds at times for a click to load the next sub forum.

e90post is hosted on SoftLayer. I've never dealt with them in the past.

However when I built, admined & ran (much smaller) bulletin boards, this sort of speed issue was always a database issue. It's quite likely they've got some table size issues & are just limping along with pruning & compression until such a time as they can make substantive changes, which will either take the site down for a while, reorganize things, cost a bunch of money, or some of all three...

MySQL was a huge PITA in this regard.
