2016 BMW F10 will not start
hi all trying to start my 2016 BMW F10 528i just bought this car in February and all the sudden the car will not start this morning. only thing I've done to the car is a air intake and a dual to a quad muffler delete. car cranks lights are on no check engine light vehicle check shows everything is OK.

check hpfp
Check to make sure you reconnected all your wires when completing last mod. Check gas level maybe bad sending unit or fuel pump. also charge battery

last mod I did was put on my LIP. AE air-intake was done a month ago no issues there all wires are in tact. I just ordered a code reader so hopefully i'll be able to know in the next day or two.

alright pulled the codes. bad fuel pump? i went from a dual to a quad exhaust (muffler delete) would that cause anything like this? I guess nice thing is i'm under warranty until Nov 2020. Hope doing the dual to quad exhaust does not void warranty. UGH

Check to make sure none of the fuses are blown. Isn't related to exhaust, the timing is just coincidental.

Guys i took the car to service. Since it's in the warranty window. They are claiming my aftermarket tail lights LCI clear had a leak which water seeped through and destroyed the fuel pump module. BS, possible? I just searched the module. looks like it is around 400. I am worried there going to slap me with a 800 dollar bill. Just odd water would leak through that now and has been on the car since March.

Rule if thumb: If you have aftermarket parts on your car, take them off before going into the dealership for warranty work. They will try to link an aftermarket radio to a transmission failure.

ouch 2400 for the two modules EMS control unit and fuel control unit and coding.
screw that i'm doing this myself. You think if i put my OEM taillights back on and go to a different dealer would work? or does BMW have 1 main database they can check on. |

Do these two modules defintiely need replacing?
Water got into my 2013 535i and I only needed to replace the fuel pump module and EMF module. I haven't come across an EMS control unit before (though I'm only new to BMW's). The fuel pump module didn't cost me all that much. |
