Wheel fitment
I got a 2016 535i xdrive and I am looking at a cheaper winter wheel+tire set ,
And I found this set from a 2010 525, tire size 235/40/18 So my question is, will this set fit with no issues and the TPMS will also work? Thank you

Go one of the online part database sites like www.realoem.com or http://bimmercat.com...and use the last 7 digits of your VIN to browse over to the wheel diagrams.
In those diagrams you should see the diagram for the TPM sensors...if there’s not a specific diagram for them...then look in your wheel diagram to see if the sensor is listed there. ‘Wherever you find the “TPM sensor diagram...look in the production date column to see if the build date falls within the same production date range. It’s as simple as spending about 3 minutes to discover if you can use the same TPM sensors.

Looks like the mdecoder site will allow you to look up VINs but you have to pay for the service now.

If your intention is dedicated wheels for winter tires, let me suggest two BMW oe rims that a plentiful (cheap) and with the correct ET30 offset:
Style 327 - 8 x 17 ET30 Style 250 - 8 x 18 ET30 The former allows for slimmer 225/50 x 17 tires that work better than wider tires in deeper snow and are much less expensive. Also higher profile tires offer better protection from potholes and the attendant damaged tires and bent rimes. To see pictures of these two wheels, go to: BMWStyleWheels.com |
