N55 Valve lash inspection?
Does the N55 engine require periodic valve adjustments? Asking about a F10 535ix with N55 engine. If so, how often and how much do independent ships charge? Any DIY's?

I thought valve lash adjustment was only for flat tappet lifters (such as those in the S50 engine from the 90s). Nxx engines I believe all have hydraulic lifters so no adjustment is necessary

I mean as long as you don't hear valve tapping (the early signs of a hydraulic lifter on its way out) you're good. What typically kills them is crappy oil/ taking too long to change the oil. Rarely do they go bad from mechanical failure on these engines.
