Posted in the other thread but Porsche entering F1 is no more.

Porsche officially calls off F1 entry plans after no Redbull deal

Lots of rumours about why the deal with Porsche went bust, but one of the rumours, of Horner might be replaced, for me is very understandable, and I indeed wonder if that wouldn't ruin RB. Horner/Marko have proven to be a very succesful duo, making a 'fizzy drinks team' into one of the strongest teams.
And of course it's not uncommon for Germans to aquire a large portion of a team and consequently replace the management.
I already thought that Porsche aquiring 50% of RB was quite a big stake.
I wonder how much of this deal going bust was a result of Mateschitz input.

That said, 2026 is still a long time away and I wouldn't be surprised that RB and Porsche would meet again to try and come to a different deal.
RB is currently the best bet for a partnership that would result in race succes, and I'm sure that Porsche rather want them to be a part of that than say....BMW

Yeah its an interesting one isn't it.

Much of the rumour of Audi was also they would take a stake in Sauber as their partner but its increasingly look like they might be an engine partner only and possibly still with Audi. Again that isn't clear yet with more to be announced and more conversations going on behind the scenes.

F1 is in rude health at the moment and I have to say I'm surprised they are pushing back on the likes of Andretti coming into F1. Maybe a big car manufacture can bankroll them onto the grid. However being based in the US won't make it easy for them when most of the existing F1 talent and knowledge is EU based.

I don't know if F1 is currently in rude health.
With the budget caps, it's certainly easier for the smaller teams. Maybe that's also why Sauber/Saubers owners didn't want to sell to Andretti.
Getting a new team into F1 instead of buying an existing one has always been difficult; all the other teams have to give up a piece of the FIA annual money pie.
That has to be compensated.
From the current teams in F1, I don't even know if there's any team that has started from scratch in the last 2 decades or so. I think they're all existing teams or bought teams.
Except maybe Haas?

So any predictions already?
I think the RB's will be lightning fast at Monza.

So my prediction is:

1. VER
2. PER
3. LEC
4. SAI
5. ALO
6. RUS
7. NOR
8. ALB
9. OCO
10. HAM

Hammy of course has to start at the back.

Of course for the Tifosi I wish them a Ferrari victory and given the incredible bad luck last race I hope it to be SAI in that matter.

Rude health in viewing figures, circuit attendance, desire for new circuits and some new big sponsors this year. I bet some teams can now attract far more sponsorship than they can spend.

Sorry, I thought rude health ment bad health.
Rude in being something unpleasant like a rude awakening.
But with health it's apparently the opposite. I had to look it up.
Is that a specific British-English use of the term, or also American-English?

So how much are the grid penalties now?

From what I can see is that VER and PER only take on a new engine (ice), so that would mean a 5 place grid penalty for VER (having already replaced one outside of the pool already) and a 10 place grid penalty for PER (first ice outside of the pool)?

And for SAI how many grid penalty places? having a new energy storage and new gearbox.

More a British - English term that might be used. Saying something is in rude health is basically saying its in really good naked bare you arse good. Sounds strange but is often used, I think some of the Sky presenters used the same term talking to Dominicali when he popped into chat to them about new teams during one of the test sessions last week.

25 for SAI. Sounds like you are correct on the RBR cars.

Seb's new look this weekend in Monza

So what do you think? Bjorn Borg or 80's porn star?

Although heavily married, Seb's known for a lot of cheesy flirting with women during interviews....
So definately 80's porn star

Sure ...
On the other hand : I just heard that Ferrari ran at Francorchamps and Zandvoort with reduced power to avoid smoke and fire !

This weekend Ferrari will run with the full power mapping .
#RussianRouletteMode !

I really wonder why RB replaced MAX's engine again ?
He just ran 2 races with his new PU .I don't get it ..
Probably they noticed that the fresh HONDA ponies are stronger and faster ...

If MAX gets the pole , that's P6 at the startgrid ..

Although not as easy to pass at Monza as it was at Spa this is the best chance for him the rest of the season to take a penalty and still be in contention for P1. Then you have two fairly fresh engines for the rest of the season that you can swap between without taking another penalty. Figured it was coming with how well Spa turned out with the new engine & penalty.

So with SAI,PER and VER also taking grid penalties, my new prediction is:

1. VER
2. LEC
3. RUS
4. ALO
5. PER
6. SAI
7. NOR
8. ALB
9. OCO
10. HAM

But I think with this race and the grid penalty for VER, there's a real chance of a crash between LEC and VER.
The urge to win for LEC (Ferrari) here in Italy is very very big.
I hope VER realises that but VER always has the urge to win, being the die hard driver that he is.
He obviously can afford the crash (in fact it could even help him if LEC also gets a dnf), but.... I hope he may let LEC win if it's the choice between crashing and finishing.

I also have my hopes up for ALO on the podium, but I think RUS in the MERC will be just too strong.
