Some Ace hardware's now can sell you a second key fob for your car, cut it, and code it. ...Great!, I get there and they have the machine to do it, he enters my model, 2013 528i series and it comes back "Sorry, dealer only"....So much for that. I see locksmiths that can do it aren't much cheaper...

What you will find out is the dealer is the only REAL option.
Also being in California you can get a discount if purchased a certain way.
I haven't seen it on this forum but if you search the internet and a forum called Bimmerfest you will find the link.
