It's actually not that bad. The only time it's jerky is when I don't give enough gas from a stop. I've learned to finesse the clutch a little more than I've ever had in any other car to eliminate a majority of it tho.

With that being said, I still hate the driving "nannies" this car comes with. It's the reason I'm getting rid of it as soon as I retire in a couple of months and get back to the continental US.

since you mention the X3 in particular, I changed the default in my '21 to sport because normal map has a terrible flat spot in it that the dealer can't solve.
Sport mode map is perfect.
...I will however switch out of sport on a highway cruise.

For anyone who's genuinely curious about why: modern cars have severe turbo lag down low, and sport mode allows a rather instant throttle response.

We all grew up with some of the greatest naturally aspirated cars, but those are non-existent these days.

Unless you are driving an M2C. Efficient sounds like ass, sport sounds only slightly better and sports + sounds the best. However, the S55 in general does not sound great at all.

Not sure what exactly transpired whether it was his posts,baiting/trolling or any other violations of the forum rules.

However,as a long time Admin of a huge sportbike forum there are things that go on behind the scenes that don't necessarily get posted for us to see; perhaps a Mod reached out to him and asked him to tone it down a bit and OP acted out towards the Mod. Perhaps his posting style got him warnings from the Mods and he did not adhere..who knows.

I don't question a Mods decision (thats a sure way to get on their radar) and I prefer not being the next one to get The Hammer so I have nothing else to say

Ya, I think that the mods here generally do a good job as I don't really notice them; they seem chill and tend to nip things in the bud before it gets outta hand. The mods from another site I used to frequent were just garbage in comparison, not to mention quite bigoted.

3 months has gotta be some kinda record haha.

from my experience... this is true for just about any bmw lol...

efficient is junk in almost all of them... sport plus per say can only be used in the m cars when using the paddles because the throttle is instant but in auto mode you're just revving higher than you need to be

as far as steering... heavier weighing i.e. from the steering wheel appears to have no impact whatsoever on the way the car handles or feels (even per pro auto reviewers)

Interesting. Back in the day, when Bimmerfest was the prominent forum, before the current owners ruined it, Bimmerpost had a reputation for banning folks at the drop of a hat. I rarely posted over here back then. I have over 20k posts on Bimmerfest. Now the tables have turned. Bimmerfest is a mere shadow of what it used to be and it’s mostly dead, especially compared to Bimmerpost. Sure hope this historical recollection doesn’t get me banned.

All (or at least most) of the “Post” sites are connected under Bimmerpost. I don’t know anything about the history of Bimmerpost. Bimmerfest was started by Jon Shafer, who is a very successful Client Advisor and manager in California. At some point along the way he sold Bimmerfest and those owners took pretty good care of it. Then they sold it to the current owners who have pretty much ruined it. Jon is still actively selling Bimmers in California. He got a master’s degree in counseling and got out of the car business for a few years, but apparently there was still a pretty strong draw for him and he came back. He has a strong following and is known for making good deals. He used to do deals anywhere in the country, but I think it was just too complicated with all the different jurisdictions and now he limits his deals just to California residents.

That's just not true though. Every single instructor at BMW Performance Schools says Comfort steering. Especially when getting sideways.
