Hi Almaretto, me again.

Swapped from an iPhone 6s to iPhone 8 and my iDrive no longer loads the Spotify iDrive app when playing! I can still play via Bluetooth and USB but can control or pick songs via iDrive / app. Guessing need a media update so it recognises it’s an iPhone again and boots the app, but with no change logs out there not going to know when they’ve added this! Anyhow, has there been any update for the NBT IStep system since O? And any update to the media / telephone since the one quoted?

I have not checked in awhile. Correct, no release notes unless posted to BMW website.

it's not white like the rest of the display. It's greyed-out like it's something that can't be changed. Every time I try and do an update I get a compatibility error even though the website says an update is available.

Has it always been grey?

Compatibility error can occur if trying to install older version or system too old to accept usb updates.

Sorry if I am repeating this if its already been asked. I am really new to bmw's.

My current software is Media: MN-003.013.001 and my current telephone: TN-003.013.001. Is this the latest?

Still, I did go to bmw.com/updates and entered my vin, it made me download upd05074, I transferred on a normal 16GB USB and went to update and got a message saying that my update file is incomplete??

I deleted the file and re-downloaded and redid the whole thing and same result.

Also? how can I update my Maps? Or how can I find out if I even need to? Thanks

Using E-sys, you can find I-Step.

It was originally, but does not necessary follow convention always. P.62.3 was released in August. P62.4/5 came out in September of 2017.

I do not know them all, but here are some:

• NBT_M15392A: MN/TN-003.009.004 (ISTA-P v3.58.3)
• NBT_N16094A: MN/TN-003.011.002 (ISTA-P v3.59.5)
• NBT_O#####?: MN/TN-003.013.001 (ISTA-P v3.60.0-3.61.x)

You could download P3.62.5_lite and run tal-calculation. SWFL numbers will correspond to MN/TN.

Update online is older than your installed.

For maps, you can check version by selection option button while on nav screen and scrolling to bottom to select option. It will display something like "North America NEXT 2017-2." You will need maps downloaded to flash drive and may also need FSC code to install.

You need full to actually proceed with flash programming. But, initial tal-calculation can be done with lite. Guide.

I know not any way to know head-unit firmware designation (eg, NBT_N16094A) directly from PSdZ.

Yes, you need a few hours, programming PSU, and ISTA+ for cleanup.

Volume will display if car has NBT. This has nothing to do with bluetooth software.

Premium is divided between East & West. There is 2019 available.
Next & Evo do not divide.

Different generations of Head Units.

HU_CIC --> HU_NBT (Next) --> HU_NBT2 (AKA Evo) --> HU_MGU (ID7)

They can all be 609 Pro Nav.

HU_CIC uses Premium Maps
HU_NBT uses Next Maps
HU_NBT2 uses Evo Maps

They are not interchangeable.
