This colour is even more beautiful in real.
I own a F10 sophistogrey. When the car was ordered i was in serious doubt about the colour.
The days went by and the car was delievered and when I saw it in real, the doubt was no longer there. It is so beautiful. My neighbours, friends - and even my wife tells me that it the most beautiful colour they have seen. In the shade and in the evenings its just black, but when the sun shines its black with sparkeling colours. Wow. I also ordered it with Ambient lighting, but i havent got a chance to se it in complete darkness yet, but for what ive have already seen it looks damn good. And most important: I have never driven a car that good before, and i have tried/owned a lot of luxury cars . Nothing comes close to my new Bimmer 525D. The engine, gearbox (8 speed aut) the Idrive. Everything is just perfect |

How do you ensure you get Oyster / Oyster / Oyster?
Hi d-rive,
Great car really beautiful. I am helping my Father spec a similar car with exactly the same exterior / interior. Initially his dealer in the UK has said that it was only possible to get Oyster Upholstery and Oyster Trim / carpets with the top of the dashboard being Black. i.e It was not possible to get everything in Oyster, but of course you did. Indeed I have seen multiple examples of Oyster / Oyster / Oyster on the internet. Indeed the BMW website in the UK when you build the car shows it all being Oyster. In the UK brochure on page 49 it implies there are only 2 combinations for Oyster. Oyster /Oyster and Oyster / Black however I have seen 3 combinations. Oyster / Black Oyster / Oyster with the top the dash being Black Oyster / Oyster with the top of the dash being Oyster, like your car. Do you know how the dealer ordered your car? Did you just order Oyster / Oyster, Or did you consciously choose the top of the dash being Oyster rather than black? Do you happen to know what the code was for your interior was it LCDH? Thanks for all your help Cheers Paul |

^I'm pretty sure the oyster/oyster with black dash you saw, was in fact the venetian beige.

@pmw103, the option it was just like that: "oyster/oyster".
Don't be afraid about the light color of the interior. In terms of visual aspect is very luminous, very "opened". In terms of dirt is absolutely ok. A month of use and still no signs or spots of dirt. |

@remmib,
Ah yes it could be! In some of the pictures its hard to tell Oyster from Beige. thanks for the suggestion. @d-rive, Many thanks for confriming what you ordered. Its really strange, BMW UK says Oyster / Oyster has a Oyster dash, just like your car, the dealer is still adament its has a black dash! We are meeting the dealer tomorrow to attempt to clarify. In the UK at least most people seam to order black interiors! By far the most common interior on the second hand market. We suspect we are the first customer of theirs to order Oyster/Oyster. The interior looks fantastic good to hear the interior is still looking good. The interior on Dad's current 535i (E39/1999) is Beige and is looking a little tired but has done well too! I was just taking a closer look at your car, you have some nice options, I think I see Comfort Seats, Adaptive Drive and the Night Vision camera. Dad was planning to order the addaptive drive, as yet we have not had the optertunity to test it on a 530D. We did manage to drive a 550i GT with it on and to be honest were not impressed with the ride particularly in comfort mode. I do appreciate the GT is different to the Saloon though. We are now planning to take off the adaptive drive and put the surround view camereas and head-up display instead. Dad is mainly looking for comfort and they didn't feel it made much difference in comfort mode at least in the GT. Do you mainly use the normal / sport modes? Have you spent much time with the comfort mode? What's your opinion? If you have driven an F10 with standard suspension, do you feel the adaptive drive on your car makes a significant difference? Would you order it again? Thanks for all your help, hope your having a good day Cheers Paul |

@pmw103. Adaptive drive is really worth it. Also integral active steering.
In comfort mode the car is really soft but in case of a change of the type of the road it change by itself the suspension, a little bit harder. After passing the potholes or whatever it is, the comfort setting is back again. On normal mode the suspension is really... normal. In sport mode is like a... BMW But still comfy. In simple words, if there is money for this option is really ok, if not, is not a big loss I like to drive dynamic, not sporty stile but because in my country the roads are not very good i use all the time the comfort mode. Is very nice how the car is balancing in a pleasant way all the time. |

@d-rive,
Thanks for the feedback very much appreciated very interesting too. Ah cool you got that too :-) Dad was worried wheel allignment would be a nightmare on the integral steering. They drove the car again with standard suspension and were happy with it, so that took of the adaptive drive and added stuff like headup display etc which they felt they would use every day. The Headup Display with speed limit display makes it really obvious when your nearing the speed limit the car is so quiet its possible to go quicker than you would normally go. The adaptive ride does sound great! I hope the don't regret not putting it on. The roads in the UK are getting worse by the day! particularly in light of the recent winter! Good to hear its ironing out the bumps in the road! Thanks again for all your help! Cheers P |
