Charlotte NC lease review - newbie
Hi all,
I'd like to think I am relatively adept at negotiating car prices, but this is my first attempt at negotiating a lease. I had submitted a request on 2 cars to my local dealer and received the attached back from them. The first quote is for a 535i http://www.hendrickcars.com/for-sale...33.html#Photos and the second is for a 528i http://www.hendrickcars.com/for-sale...c-2432849.html While waiting for the response, I stumbled upon the WEALTH of information on this site, and wanted to just verify my suspicions on this lease before I respond. 1. I clearly should be telling them to apply all 5k to MSDs? And, in fact, should go for the full 7 if possible. 2. They did not share the Money Factor with me. He told me the quotes are using an average over the last 30 days or something and that the final number would be based on credit check. Again, my research shows that I should have no problem qualifying for the .00130 base. Then the MSD discounts would go on top of that? 3. The fees in general he has quoted me seem insanely high? I should only be paying the 925 acquisition fee and nothing else, correct? The "administration fee" seems bogus, for example. In his email, he said it was 625 bucks. 4. The price offer is still too high even with the discounts. I specifically asked if the 1500 build out cash was included in here or if that would be added. he said it is already included in the discount. My gut says I should go for the lowest price possible (as close to invoice as I can) and then the 1500 should be on top of that? Or, is that not allowed, and I should just focus on getting to invoice? In general, I just feel like these payments are very high compared to some of the example leases shown. But, like I said, Id really like someone to verify my assumptions and next steps are all correct? Last question... are there any sponsored dealers near Charlotte like Greg and Jon are in California? Life would be so much easier if there were. :-) Thanks all, in advance |

I am in the same boat, looking at a 528i MSport in Florida to lease today. Deal works out to:
$60,580 MSRP $1,500 down + 7 MSD 36 mos / 10k miles $609.30/month incl tax It looks like a great deal. Any thoughts?

Wow, thats a great deal. Had a good exchange w the dealer today on all of the above. So, we'll see what he comes back with... We have it tough here in Charlotte because all the dealerships within 100 miles or so are all owned by the same company. No competition = bad for consumers. :-(

Can you send any more details on that deal? Just received reply from dealer and the numbers basically didnt change. Seems crazy to me that I cant get a better deal than this. It's really not the money... it's the principle! I see so many better deals on this site and others than what I am being offered. Growing tired and frustrated w the whole process, but I really like the cars. :-( |

I can absolutely attest to the above!!! Charlotte dealers (all Hendrick) are a complete and total waste of time. Use Greensboro or Atlanta and, saving thousands is not an exaggeration. I wont name exact names, but *final* lease numbers on a 5 series with a sticker of around 64K here in CLT was 659/month w 12K miles. And, this was after PAINFUL negotiation with every "trick" in the book being used. Final #s on a car in greensboro that had a sticker of 69,800 (+5800 over the one in CLT)... 604. And it took 1/20th the time and effort to get there. |
