Coding newer ECUs to older cars using Esys

Hey all, Ive got a 2015 F10 528i LCI with an i level of f010-15-03-502 from factory. This is still my actual i level and all the ecus have this i level, apart from the asd which i re-coded to f010-15-03-503 as i had changed a couple of fdl codes using bimmercode and wanted to reset it to factory settings.

I'm going to retrofit S688 Harman Kardon to my vehicle (it currently has base/stereo audio). The speakers/tweeters/subwoofers are dated august 2013 but the amplifier is dated august 2019. The seller claims all the hardware is from the same doner car (2014 model F10) and may have been replaced at some point prior but who knows.

The amplifier is a BE B219 / Part number: 6815972 It has the ASD connector so should be compatible with he ASD in my car.

Now my question is that can the amplifier/any ECU which has a build date higher than the vehicle i level be coded to my car using ESYS? Or do I need to update the i level in my car first before adding newer dated ECUs?

I'm new to coding using ESYS so wated to check with people who have experience coding with Esys. I've tried looking online but couldn't find a definitive answer for this. Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere on the fourms.
