Fitment was perfect!
So, just to confirm, you were able to pass NYS Emissions with this catted DP?

Not to jump on exia_m3's response, but thought I would share some knowledge that I came across when deciding what dp to go with. Two separate guys.. one had a catted AR design, one had a catted ER. The one with catted AR, was able to pass NYS inspection without having to remove the dp. The ER owner.. failed NYS inspection. He had to completely remove it and reinstall the the OEM dp to pass.

I went with AR Design as I really liked the sound when I heard it firsthand. So I guess to answer your question, there is no guarantee. Not sure how one catted DP would differ from another in these terms, but I guess its a risk regardless.

Hope it helps.

Is JB4 necessary with the catted downpipe to avoid Check Engine Light and codes? I am currently running BMS Stage 1 tune, not JB4. I also have BMS intake and MP Exhaust and have been avoiding DP as I didn't want to deal with taking off every year to pass NYS emissions. If I can pass with a catted DP, I might reconsider.

Im thinking in the future get the AR Catless dp with resonator. I want the benefit of a catless dp without too much sound. I dont know if someone has this AR dp installed.

I personally do not think so. At least from what I have researched and seen, its not necessary. But I have heard from some ppl that over time a catted DP will throw a CEL. Again, unfortunately... no guarantee. I can tell you I bought the DP with the same hopes that I can pass inspection without having to remove it. Removing JB4 before inspection is simple, but I would rather not have to swap out my DP each time. I can confirm in a couple months when I am up for inspection... which probably doesn't help you much.

On the lighter side, a nice sound/performance upgrade.

They're back now. Apparently the original welders from the legacy AR Design derived some capital & bought back the company.

I passed but only had it on for a roughly a year, did not have CEL.
Here is the thing my friend with a different set of catted dp's did not pass emissions. There is no guarantee cause its a 200CEL CAT.
I don't know if I am right but the stock DP aren't they like 1000CEL+

Glad to hear AR is back in biz. Looking to put one of their DPs on my 14' 535ix. Has anybody installed their DP with resonator? Mike, what's your take on the the AR Catless with & without resonator? Or would the 4" ER DP be the better choice in terms of "no drone"? Your opinion is highly valued as I'll be purchasing through you :-)

Looking to have as little to no drone in the car as I have clients in the passenger seat sometimes. The added HP and slightly aggressive tone is what's appealing to me over a full or axle back exhaust mod.

I'll be adding a JB4 as well.

Good question. We offer both brands and they are both top notch with spot on fitment.

Drone sound t is barely noticeable which is why most of the DP we are selling are the AR/ER catless ones.

If you want to be on the safe side, get the resonated AR option but i personally think you will be fine with the regular catless.
