Oh okay, i totally understand. I didn't realize you had an alpina b5. Thats awesome! Do you have pictures?

And i gathered all the parts, its just pending the install process at the moment

Hey,

For night vision 3, what are are the two cables that come from the ecu to camera, like the part numbers for both HSD cables?

Ecu to camera is basically 1 HSD cable but it is split in the engine bay and connected again to the camera. The issue is that second cable is not sold by itself but you have to buy the left side front harness to get that connection. If you are retrofitting, I'd recommend just getting the Chinese long cable and run just that one cable from ecu to camera

I ended up figuring out the parts for the f10 to have support for nivi 3 with dynamic spotlights, you have to change part numbers:

61129291099 Front harness of the bumper which has part #2 of the HSD cable
61129296965 front harness of the bumper for the Dynamic Spots

And the HSD cable for night vision 3 is: 61119327521

hey,

I reanimate this thread again, as i am currently working on retrofit Night vision 3 into a M8 (F93) but bit confused right now.

as far as i found out there are several ways to reach the goal.

1) ECU & CAM from the same spender car + activator
2) ECU & CAM from different spender cars or unused OEM + ecu mod
3) ECU & CAM unused from OEM + FSC

is this right so far?
in this thread https://www.yandex.com.tr/turbo/driv...5725623532028/ he wrote, that NiVi 3 doesn't need to be ecu & cam from same VIN and it could be any ECU with any CAM.

otherwise, as far as i found out, to get an FSC is near impossible, isn't it?

some guys from russia also would mod the ECU to work without an official FSC.

so what is now the best way to go?
can you maybe assist me by this project?

Not possible, otherwise I would have posted it. I have both a brand new camera and a brand new control unit, doesn't work even with or without emulator/activator.

What they do up in Russia/Belarus etc, they are able to open up the Control board and modify it (soldering is involved). I even reached out and asked them can I send you my brand new unit and they can modify and they said no. So you can only buy from them.

how to connect the NiVi3 ECU together with the other parts.

a.) From the ECU A80*1B goes one cable with 2 leads to the CAN Terminator 5 at PIN 9 and Pin 25.
b.) From the ECU A80*2B goes one LVDS HSDL cable directly to the camera. originally you have to use 2 cables, 1 goes to the bumper and the other from the bumper to the cam. (for better maintenance).
c.) From the ECU A80*3B goes a split cable with one end to the headunit and the other end to the power distribution box in the rear of the car.

especially there is some "custom work" needed, as there is no original cable, so you have to buy the cables, pins and terminals on your own.

so... it looks like my MGU doesn't fit for night vision.
KIS Calculation shows me, that i have to replace the hardware.

It looks like i have this installed:
00005F32 LU MGU High 1.0 DIN B314__0073
(CPU high, 6GB RAM, 32GB eMMC, HDD, WLAN, USB2, USB3, OABR 4Port) MGU

there is also another MGU hardware with 5 OABR Ports and with or without CVBS, GPS or DVD Port.
in the diagram a FBAS connection is required to the headunit to Pin 7, 13 and 14... so the CVBS Port on the MGU is missing.

so whats next? replacement of the whole MGU? Or is their a way to enable the CVBS Port on the current MGU?

Code:
MAIN:
1 KL30_B
2 KL31
3 KL30_F
4 n.c.
5 UART_KON_RX
6 GND
7 CVBS_IN1_P

10 n.c.
11 WAKE_UP
12 UART_KON_TX
13 GND

OABR:

2 OABR-ATM -
3 OABR-BDC +

latest update:

i did a Calculation with E-Sys and found out, that i need another MGU.
also i found a guy who provide me the HWEL numbers, but now the confusion begins:

IST:
00005F32 LU MGU High 1.0 DIN B314__0073 (CPU high, 6GB RAM, 32GB eMMC, HDD, WLAN, USB2, USB3, OABR 4Port) MGU

SOLL:
00007867 LU MGU HIGH F 1 DIN B264 (CPU high, 6GB RAM, 128GB eMMC, WLAN, GPS, USB2, OABR 5Port) MGU

the wanted MGU doesn't have the CVBS Port, which is necessary for nightvision, so i really don't know why E-SYS tells me, that I need this HWEL.
Also why the hell one with an GPS port? very strange, especially as there are others which would fit better from HWEL number.
so i really don't get behind the logic of this HWEL numbers.

Can anyone help me to better understand the HWEL topic?

Anyway: i got back my NiVi ECU patched to my VIN and doing the research for the harness right now.

There are 2 options now:

1. I do the retrofit with out changing the MGU, so i have full functionallity of NightVision in HUD, and KOMBI but no Night Vision Video on the Screen, because my MGU doesn't support this.
2. I do all from point 1 but also try to replace the MGU to some with an CVBS port.

thats current state of play.

So people who have done the RSE retrofit also had to change the MGU so yes you will need to change the MGU

yah this part i got it, but why the hell the HWEL number is like description without CVBS Port which is needed for NiVi?

also, does anybody know what BMW says at a technical recall, if there is another MGU partnumber installed?

I'm a bit late to the party here, but I have one question. My 2016 M5 has dynamic LED headlights. Will they take over the function of the dynamic spotlights?
Additional spotlights won't fit M5's due to all the extra cooling rads behind the bumper. This is the reason there are no foglights on this model.
Thanks.

No, the f10 adaptive led lights wont function as the dynamic spot light, the dynamic fog lights are needed

How is the progres with the retrofit? I am at the beginning of this process in my G05, my MGU doesn't have video input , but I don't need to see night vision on the display. More important are HUD warning and flashing lights. I am asking this as id it worth to do retrofit or finally it doesn't work

I dont think you can use it without the upgraded head unit because the night vision ecu connects to the head unit so the other features like heads up display warnings wont work or anything with the system. Because from the ecu its a hsd video cable to the camera and the second cable/harness is to the ecu for power & data & video. You would need to use both otherwise the ecu isnt connected to the car

Im retrofit is still in progress. I have all the parts, just waiting on an install

I am not sure that warning at HUD and spot light require video input to HU.It looks for me PT CAN signals from BDC to combi and HUD are responsible for warnings and the same for spot light directly form BDC. I will test it,with only PT CAN connection when will find some time and find a solution how to access CAN terminator which is in quite difficult place. Video input to HU is only to show picture from the camera, but I am not sure, that is my hope as replacing HU is the last thing i would like to do.I think i am not that desperate to have NV.
