agree with this as well. BM3 are missing alot of tables with the xdi. I eventually changed out to spool fx 150

Ok after 50 million repairs back at it with D Shoup

https://datazap.me/u/bmwdoubles/123b...&data=3-14

It's making 420ish WHP that's almost 500 at the crank.

I think i can get under 500whp with some adjustments including a 3.5 tmap.

I want to see your car fly to the moon!!!! lets do it.
Im on my 12th revision with shoup. 23psi according to David at worst being that im xdrive im 530hp wheel. 654 crank and 680 torque. 82% WGDC. We are currently making progress on 25psi but AIC2-V is acting up or not spraying so im going to order an older AIC6 and use that since it seems to be a little bit more n55 friendly

Why only 420whp? It has to be making more than that. Did you run it on a Dyno? You should be making at least 450-475whp

It's not been on a dyno yet but yeah that's probably the real number.

It's $howtime! I want to see you make 600whp! What RPM are you hitting 25 psi on?

What fuel are you on? I just noticed that your rail pressure dropped quite a bit at 6200 RPM. Did you get any code for that?

I've never heard of him until this post. I'm even thinking about joining the Shoup Troop myself if my tuner can't get my boost curve evened out. David must be the best PWG tuner as far as I know.

No code. If I want more fuel up there I'll need to remove the fuel filter and use the Spool Micron filter instead.

I've had a GSR, Mission, MHD, and used JB4 and BMS backend flashes and can confirm Shoup is the best PWG tuner so far. In all fairness Mission is up there too, but I had different hardware at that time and he doesn't tune N55s anymore.

Bringing this thread back... I just had a great convo with DS and I wanted to share some cause I think this is gold for the community.

For those on the old style HPFP and PS2 that want that have mid 500 WHP goals (maxing the PS2) he recommended doing a CAN Flex Fuel analyzer with MHD and a snow stage 2.5 or 3 Meth injection. He said on that set up would max out the PS2. So hear what I'm saying here cause this is NEWS TO ME: no HPFP OR LPFP upgrades required. Our cars are E85 ready to go. (he did recommend doing a LPFP upgrade and to do THAT right means an EOS EKP module which is more money, but it's not required)

The key here is the meth, it actually raises the fuel rail pressure and because we are a 5 series we actually have a bigger LPFP than the 3 series and therefore between that fact and the meth, he can deliver the fuel to max out the PS2.

What is the max on a PS2... I was able to ask him: it's about 22lbs of boost to redline. It will spike to 28, but it'll only hold 22 to redline. Factors: how well your intake and exhaust flow. I'm very interested to see how my intake holds up and with a catless dp and armytrix full exhaust I should flow well.

I also asked him about burble - he said it's ok in moderation but it'll actually wash out the cylinders with the extra gas and burn oil. He said BMW uses it in moderation for a reason. I have mine at like 1 second or so for anything over 4k rpms... he said that's fine. But maxing it out is no good... and I specifically asked about it impacting the turbo but he only mentioned what I said.

So in conclusion simple is better and between an e-mix and meth we can take this thing to the max level of the PS2 which is the most economical turbo upgrade available. After that you'll need to go the route $howtime456 did! I am very excited about meth injection considering the cooling, cleaning, and detonation protection it can provide... fuel rail pressure is just an added bonus!!!

I'm curious to know how much E can you run on the stock HPFP. I'm maxed out at 20 psi from 5500-6500 now with my current BMS intake.

I am not sure if that has anything to do with bms intake lol.

I was running k&n air charger and now I am running k&n drop-in... much better throttle response with stock box and k&n drop-in. Next is to upgrade boost pipe and cold side pipe.

If you have the old style pump there is not limit. You can run full e85

I think the BMS intake helped me make 1 psi up top from 6000 to redline. But it is sucking in all that hot air.
