I can't stand the feeling of inflated mid-range with a severe drop-off at high RPM. That's what tuned stock turbos feel like. Also, F series aftermarket pricing is still very much over-inflated at the moment. You pay $40 more for a single N55 downpipe with a basic V-band, 2 O2 bungs, 2 bends and 2 welds compared to N54 downpipes which is two and includes 2 cast inlets, several bends, several welds, 4 O2 bungs, 2 flanges, gaskets and bolts. The N55 downpipe would cost less than half to produce but the vendors charge more than N54 downpipes. Turbos are the same. You can get 2x N54 Stage 2 turbos for less than 1x N55 Stage 2 turbo. There is more competition coming which should mix things up and bring prices down.

Just worried about the PWG holding higher boost. Saw people having problems with it when installing the PS2. Have you had any issues? I’m really thinking of just dropping the cash and getting it soon.

Agreed! So messed up! I paid like $360 for my VRSF DP while my friends m235 VRSF DP cost 100$ less. Same company and both without cat. . Like wtf

Yeah the best I've been offered is $360 but with a higher shipping cost to Australia than other vendors. I can't be paying AUD$620 for a couple of bends.

It'll be fine with a PS2. Any boost holding problems were likely tuning related.

It varies depending on model (eg 3 or 5 series) and country. Most F11 535is got PWG all the way to the end of their production in 2017 for example.

The PWG N55 is their Euro 5 emission engine. In countries that don't require Euro 6, they often just keep going with the PWG.

I was very dissappinted to discover my 4/2014 build was PWG. I was hoping to not have to upgrade the turbo.

I am curious how an upgraded turbo will work with PWG. Will we still get overboosting and throttle closures? That's my issue now. Lots of throttle closures from overboost. Pics attached. Orange/yellow lines are Overboost. Green/Red lines are large Throttle closures. This is a Stock Map!!! And that first dip 35% throttle at 100% Gas Pedal. 2nd dip is 59%. Car never gives full throttle....even though WOT

The DME uses the throttle to regulate boost actual vs boost target. Closure does not necessarily mean something is wrong.

What tune are you using?

At the moment flashed to Stock to troubleshoot the car. It was a bad transfer case causing all these throttle closures. Car was hesitating bad especially at low rpms and wot. Ran a datalog after new transfer case and Zero Throttle closures and car is smooth again.
I understand these cars use the throttle plate to regulate boost but I was getting a lot of big closures (28% - 34% throttle angle). I think Ewg cars regulate boost a little better than PWG with less closures, if any...
Right now im trying to troubleshoot a rough idle/misfire with ista+. Rough running cylinder test shows misfires across multiple cylinders soon as I start the car. And Pre Catalytic converter O2 sensor reads 1.4V and barely moves at all at idle. I think it should be at .45V average. I'm not sure what else I can test to narrow down the rough idle issue. No CEL either.

By any chance do u have any 1/4mi times with the PS2 or Dyno Charts ?. I am Curious because I have same exact car and debating on pulling trigger on PS1 or PS2.

No, this isnt a 1/4mi car and I wouldn't be caught out dead at a drag strip. Also don't much care about dyno numbers.

For those that don't know a 17 year old kid still on his learners permit blew a redlight last week because he was too busy playing on his phone. He slammed my left side at 40-45mph. My car is a total loss.

Will likely be parting it out, still arguing with insurance as the kid wasn't listed on his parents policy, wasn't the owner of the car he was driving, shouldn't have been driving alone, parents policy limits are minimum liability and no where near covering the loss etc.

Thats a reasonable expectation. For more than that you would have to upgrade your high pressure fuel system or add port injection. The stock single Bosch HPFP will crash around that point.

I have the S55 dual HPFP upgrade kit I put together for my own car and was about to install available in the FS section: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1502987
