I have a rough idle only on a cold start. After 5-10 minutes everything is smooth, and the car runs great. Even at a stop light, when the rpm drops to 600, the engine runs perfectly, no misfires nothing.
But the first cold start of the day the car shakes can show misfire codes, mostly cylinder 1-4-2-6 sometimes a check engine light, with a drivetrain error. But when the car runs for 5 minutes. I will switch it off, and on again, the drivetrain error and check engine light are gone, and the car runs great.

So I did my research and did almost all things that usually are F10 prone to break.
I don't have oil in the spark plugs, so I don't think is a gasket issue.
Because it shows me misfire codes. I replaced all 6 fuel injectors with index 11, 6 new bosch ignition coils, and new spark plugs, I did clean the Vanos solenoids, and I check my high-pressure fuel pump. Everything is showing good values. I will go crazy, don't know what else should I do.

Read up on VANOS solenoids, they sit on the front of the engine and use oil pressure to operate the valve timing system. When they get older (75k+ miles) they can produce a rough idle when cold. They are easy to replace. My N55 has 2 of them, 4-cylinders have 1 of them I believe.

523i has 3.0 engine inline 6 so it has 2 of them
I know i clean them with a brake cleaner. That thing hasn't improved the problem fully.
Maybe i should replace them. Mine has 93 000 km

I have a 2014 535i that does the same. It improves with high quality fuel and with new spark plugs. I’m going to change the Vanos solenoids next, as I have 80k miles on the car.

After 2 full tanks and 1000 km after
The situation itself improves
Not sure how, but I don't mind
Fingers crossed it will get only better from now on
