I wish Sport shift speed could be applied to Comfort. The only thing I would change.

Honestly I think the greatest feature of xHP is the fact that your car will go into 8th gear when cruise control is on and you're in sport mode. It was always my biggest gripe with the stock logic, since either I have to turn off sport or go 300+ miles in 7th gear. Sure it's only one or two MPG difference, but it adds up on long road trips.

Now, I can cruise in 8th and the second I turn it off, I'm in 7th or 6th ready to go.

Hm, anyone notice that there's a slight delay to the paddles? On the pre-XHP setup, as soon as I tapped the paddle it started shift. Now, it takes maybe half a second to shift. This is on sport+ with the shifter to the left.

That sounds like what I observe in full comfort mode (now that I have a DEC switch retrofitted). Definitely not what it did pre-DEC or post-DEC in anything but "COMFORT".

My paddle response was much improved over stock. Although I'm pre-LCI

No delay at all, shifts are faster than pre-XHP in my case in Sport/Sport+ mode

Any resolution? stage 2 xHp in sport/sport+ when I tap the paddles there is almost 1/2 second delay, pre-xhp there wasnt near that much delay. So far I'm really not happy with xHp. Comfort D it puts the transmission in 8th gear at 40 mph and 1k RPM. Shifting is much more rough than it was stock in all drive modes, E/C/S/S+. Maybe I need to reset the adaptation

Back in my early days with xHP (years ago) I noticed behaviour like this. At the beginning they had NO support for cars without a DEC switch (seems rare). They made some software change, possibly just for me, and it supported non-DEC cars.

One time after they did a major update I ran into more problems. It had to do with how I coded paddle support. I had VO coded 2TB, but did not have a DEC switch. According to xHP this created a combination which did not exist (all factory 2TB cars would have a DEC switch) and caused worse-than-stock performance because there were no maps for these non-existant cars. At the time, I changed to FDP coding just the paddles into the SZL, removed the 2TB and xHP worked great again.

I kept running into xHP bugs, unrefined shifts in some conditions and eventually retrofitted a DEC switch. As soon as I did that, any remaining slight dissatisfaction with xHP was gone. It's been great since. I can VO code 2TB and everything works great.

So, all that to say - those with worse-than-stock performance out of the box: Any interesting retrofits on your cars? Any FDL or VO coding done? Either way, definitely contact them - xHP is great for me and they're still adding features and controls.

I know this post is quite old but does anyone know of a similar trans update for the f10 550i. I have had a ton of trouble getting good information on this. I plan to do a bunch of mods this winter and I would like to prepare for putting the power down without issues when it comes to the transmission.

I don't understand what you mean or why you don't think xHP is suitable.

xHP is for all 6HP and 8HP transmissions, 550 included. It does increase line pressure, but there's only so much you can do in software.

Ya I understand what you mean I was just considering trying to get ahead of a possible issue. What would be my recourse then idk
