F10 Dashboard removal

Does anyone have instructions for the removal and replacement of the dash on a 2012 BMW 550i Xdrive?

I paid for a manual online...thinking it was in there, but it was not what I needed.

All in all...it went pretty well removing it. I just don't want to miss anything when I put it back together.

Thanks Hoa.

Is there a chance you have the vents/radio/glove box...all associated parts/components with this area? Center console?

Or can you point me in a direction to find it?

Thanks

So everything is going really good...I've got the new/salvage yard dash installed and putting the other components back in.

However, while I was removing the radio I broke one of the connectors on the radio unit.

I have a replacement in my hands now, but my question is...Do I need someone to reprogram/flash the radio to tell the car that this is the correct radio? I've read some conflicting information and looking for some advice.

Thanks,

Nate

Yes, it have to be coded with your VIN. If not, it will brick the unit and will not allow you to use navigation. Most of the other function will work depending on what was coded previously for the previous vehicle.

Picture of the broken part? Sometime you can just swap a small component

attached pics of the broken port and the radio for the one I got from the salvage yard.

It's the black port on the back of the radio. If you're looking at the rear its the bottom left port.

Don't know what this port controls.

That's the AM/FM1 antenna. If you don't use it, it's ok to leave it alone. If you do, you can disassemble the unit and switch just that board over. I believe it's just a sister board that can detach from the main board

Thanks for the response Hoa!

We currently use XM so I'm not sure how much the wife uses the AM/FM.

I'm just waiting for the airbag module to be reset...then I can put that back in followed by the glove box.

I may have some time to dig into the radio and swap that out. You didn't make it sound impossible.

By the way...thanks again for the help

Hoa -

Wondering if you could provide those diagrams for the front end of this car...

This is the way it came back from the store after getting quoted. I wish they would have given me the broken parts so I knew exactly what I needed.

Looking for some more help...

Electrical wiring in the front bumper assembly.

Driver Side
A - Park Sensor ?
B - Fog Lamp
C - Side View Camera

Passenger Side
D - Horn ?
E - Headlight
F - ?
G - Side View Camera
H - Park Sensor?

Am I still missing a wire harness? I believe there is supposed to be 4 Park sensors in the front.

Thanks,

PDC sensor is F. There is a harness from the 4 sensors that you need to get. They attach to the bumper and the end of the harness plug into F

Thanks Hoa.

I purchased a wire harness this morning. This harness plugs into the 'F' labeled connector on my drawing and connects to the 4 park sensors as you stated.

What connects to 'A' on the driver side and 'H' on the passenger side?

Thanks,

Nate

I am not sure on those two connectors. I don't think they go over that foam piece though. It most likely plug into something behind it
