Help! Dropped a screw in the engine bay . . .
I was changing the engine air filter and the last torx screw fell over into the engine bay. It fell between the engine air filter cover and engine cover. Is it safe to drive or do I need to try to find it ? I don't see it in the pan underneath. I don't know what to do

Seen quite a few N55 air filter housing bolts stripped from overtightening. Don't feel sad about 5 out of 6 doing their job. Just buy another one and move on if you can't find it. More than likely it's caught in the belly pan or on top of the DME wiring mess under the intake manifold. Good luck!

Thank you for the replies.
I forgot I had posted this . . . I ended up taking a rideshare to Lowe's (and back) and got the magnetic tool. I finally found it after poking around for 15 minutes . . . It was hanging out in those wires. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to fly out and cause damage to the engine when starting my car or driving 😅 |

Those magnetic tools have saved me a number of times. I’ll move it around in the area where the screw fell, and can often retrieve it even if it can’t be seen
