5 Series xDrive Steering Column Shaft

After dealing with play in the steering wheel I possibly found the main cause. The aluminum clamp on the upper shaft was loose. Upon further inspection I noticed that the bolt wasn’t fully installed. I tried tightening it until I also noticed it was on backwards, or at least I think. I’m almost certain that the head of the bolt is supposed to be on the side with the machined cutout. Anyone else with an xDrive that can verify this?
