This should put the argument to bed.

He didn't turn the wheel. No way he was making that corner.

I mean I saw that footage too, and to me Max didn't even attempt to steer until he was far too deep into that corner.

But I'm not a steward so I can't make that call regarding if he should be penalized.

Max was attempting to cause a collision that would take Ham or them both out of the race since he has the points lead it he saw that as a better option than 2nd place. The only reason why he didn't was because Ham was smart enough to take evasive action. It's one thing to strongly defend an overtake from your championship rival, but looking at how far Max ran himself wide, that's all the evidence the stewards should've needed to see because it shows his actions were undeniable deliberate attempt to cause contact or to run Ham off track. Max followed that move up by weaving like crazy down the straight, once again... making a mockery of the rulebook and getting away with it.

If it's just "good 'ol hard racing" then the stewards need let the other drivers do the same thing.

I guess we shall see what the stewards decide to do.

So to once and forall debunk the crazy myth perpetuated around here, the fia penalized mercedes for their rear wing which apparantly was defective and not letting them fix it in parc ferme like they let RB fix their wing, and not peanlizing max for dangerous defending. That totally sounds like the FIA treat mercedes specially.

I almost feel like it's too late for the stewards to give Max a penalty. There's no good reason that they didn't penalize Max either during the race or less than an hour after.

If the stewards want to turn a blind eye to rule violations to keep the championship close, why only be blind to Redbull? Why not allow McLaren and Ferrari to blatantly break rules so they can also race at the front? There's no point in having rules if they're not going to enforce them consistently and fairly for all the competitors.

Lol just let ferrari burn some oil and extra fuel for the last few races. I wanna see some real top speed.

Right, I'm sure you believe Max tried his best to make the corner but he experienced spontaneous-critical understeer.

It was already said that MV's tyres were overheated from staying ahead of LH in the corners hence the car travels further in braking and turning, what part of that don't you understand.

If you believe that then you're doing a disservice to your favorite driver's skills. What professional driver miscalculates his tire grip by a margin as huge as what Max did? Max didn't run a few feet wide, he went flying straight of the track.

You know Max attempted to collide with Ham, it's just your blind support for Max won't let you admit it. You think that's what being a "true fan" is all about... supporting your guy even when he's clearly in the wrong.

It's all about the constructors too which is more important that the drivers title for the team, why would he put himself and LH out only for BOT to speed up and get the max points, you know little mate.

"BS"

MAX pulled his steering wheel almost completely to the left to turn in ..
His tyres were completely overheated and he got lack of grip .
He pulled his steering wheel to the left , but his front wheels didn't respond !

For the Merc preachers who need (very likely) 'big glasses...

So, the fans of the driver (that still could become the next world champion) point out his inability to maintain control while being overtaken in a corner (on the order of drivers like Nikita Mazepin and Pastor Maldonado)...but we still have no explanation from them of why he resorts to what has become a signature move... weaving on the straight while being chased. It will be a new low if he is the next World Champion.

WRONG!!
From YOUR pic look where the wheels are pointed.... straight off the track.
The steering wheel is not even close to full lock.
LOL... You just posted proof that MAX tried to take HAM out.

Also, steering wheel is only one of three things to steer a car.
Throttle and brake also change the line.

YOUR pic also debunks the overheated tires BS.
If that were so the wheels would be pointed at the apex with the car in massive understeer.
YOUR pic proves otherwise.

But of course.. as usual you will just ignore the facts to suit your own narrative.

That's what YOU want to see !

The steering wheel is not even close to full lock ?

So , you want a full lock in THAT turn ?

Perhaps you think that MAX wants to kill himself !
