A question - I have stage 1 upgrade and supporting mods. If I did this upgrade, will there be more power to be made with this lpfp upgrade?

That was not a difficult project. I did use the newtis website to be sure I removed things in the proper order and didn't break anything. Car is happy.

Sorry for last response, I can run straight 85 on MHD e30 map 1. For map 2 and 2+ I need to keep it at e60 or less.

To revive a older post.n Thanks to the OP for this as I am about to tackle changing out my lpfp with a 450 this weekend!

To the OP; did any coding have to be done to the fuel pump control module to accommodate the increase in current draw so that the CEL will not be triggered?

I did this DIY... There are shadow codes that might pop up but no cel.

Also, make sure you get this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001R...b_b_asin_title

O'Reilly also sells this part.

You cannot use the stock hose as you have to cut it.

So you can definitely use more than E30 on this?

You can run 100% E85 using the pump but will hpfp will be handle is another question.

So yes and no... You will have to monitor as you increase to see if your hpfp can handle it.

Are there 100% E85 N55s out there? Is it just a matter of replacing both LPFP, HPFP, and getting a tune for it?

Well depends on what type of hpfp you have... My car is 2011 so it shares same hpfp as N54 guys, so I can get the Helix overdrive unit and that allows me to run 100% E85. For newer 2012+ got the newer style hpfp which requires a $5k solution to run 100 percent E85. But than I don't know if stock fuel injectors are up for the task? So many variables lol... I am still planning on upgrading to Helix overdrive unit by next summer.

Good info! Mine is a 2011 with a 2010 production date so it's good to know we can do that upgrade and run 100% E85.

You have to upgrade fuel lines as well with e85 certified from hpfp to fuel tank.

I appreciate that thank you. So getting a XDI-35 HPFP would also be an additional benefit?

I would just get the fuel-it ones. I think they around 180?

If you have newer style hpfp than yes XDI-35 is made to allow more fueling capacity. I believe it flows 30 percent more than stock one.

From what I have come to known doing my research is that old n54 style hpfp was capable of flowing more fuel than newer style hpfp.

When doing this you need to upgrade the fuel lines. The rubber hose is not made for e85. You will need a QFS 9mm Corrugated PTFE hose. The XDI 35 will handle up to E50 with FBO tuned. After that you will need Port Injection or XDI 60 upgrade.

Just finished doing this upgrade and I must say that it was way easier than I originally expected. I used the following kit.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-WAL...72.m2749.l2649

Everything needed was in there and swap was straight forward. You can save a fair share of money doing this mod yourself. Only thing i did slightly different was i had to clamp the end of the nylon hose as it did pop off during testing. (all good now) On to installing my port injection!

I wish I would have found this earlier lol... Had so much trouble with the hose... That would fit.

So with this I can run at least E50?

All depends on your hpfp... Plus at e50 level you want to upgrade your fuel lines as well.
