Deleted fog lights today. I think it looks more aggressive. My fog lights were pretty damaged and the trim pieces were cracked so I figured at the very least I would have to replace everything already so why not pull out the dremel and be creative.

I took the cover off and very carefully used my dremel to cut out the Inside of them. Basically modified the fog covers to only be the outer trim. Took the trim piece and sanded it smooth, painted it, and than installed it. I used black high heat radiator paint to paint the radiators inside each .

Here's a closer look

Is it just a hole straight through though?

Basically. The cover is cosmetic and doesn't actually protect the coolers. I know some people will say it does, but I've had exposed front mount intercoolers on several cars and never had an issue. If these were vital guards for the coolers, I think BMW would have come up with something better than some abs plastic grille insert.

I think the point is to protect it from large debris and things that might block the intercooler i.e. plastic bags floating on the high way and such.

That is probably true. I personally have not run into an issue having an exposed intercooler at the front of several cars so I'm not worried about these which are tucked back in there.

Never understood why Dinan designed the tips to stick out that much - looks like tailpipes on an old truck. I wish they had just designed the 550i tips to work with M5 diffuser

I actually bought the diffuser before I bought the Dinan exhaust because I knew that I wouldn't install it with stock diffuser. Hopefully you'll get it before February. Mine shipped from the US but was $$$. I bought 3 total - 2 were cheaper and the finish and fit were really bad. I spent easily $1000 on all three - which is ironic because that's what the Vorsteiner would have cost me, but they don't make it anymore. The one I settled on is 100% perfect though, but I ended up painting it to match the car cause I'm personally not a huge fan of CF.

Is your diffuser an M5 style rep one? My exhaust hole cutouts are much bigger and wrap around that triangle bit. I fit 2x 4" tips comfortably
