2014 535i JB4
Just got my JB4, gonna install on Monday, What Tune should I run? Have a BMS intake, FTP charge pipe and boost pipe and remus axle back exhaust? I hear tune 1 or tune 5, but any other suggestions would be great! Thanks in advanced!

Map 1 is okay but consistent power about 11psi boost.
Map 5 is more power about 15psi but not consistent, you wont get the same power each time you hit the throttle because it is autotune. Catless dp or high flow dp and you can do map 2. I would of went with MHD instead to be honest. Good luck with JB4. |

JB4's are antiquated obsolete toys.
Flash tunes are where it is at and Mission Performance is the best in the business. MHD is literally only popular because it is cheap. Not because it's the best choice. |

To me with Mission performance you stuck with one tuner vs MHD you can pick and choose.

I went with the JB4 because I had the JB Stage 1 and had great results with it. This is just my weekend car to take the wifey and kids out. Just wanted to get a little more "kick" out of the car! don't think I'm going to do a down pipe since I'm here in California where they suck when it comes to emissions. Don't want to have to keep taking it off and on just to smog. Just wanted to see what you guys were running on these 535i F10s as far as what mode to run it on using the JB4. Thanks for your guy's advise! I have my JB Stage 1 up for sale too on the marketplace!

Honestly, if you had jb stage 1 than jb4 is a waste of money because from what I hear map 1 is same as jb stage 1. Thats why MHD with your current mods in my opinion would of net you more power.
Plus Flash tune either Mission Performance or MHD would provide you with much smoother power delivery and ECU would be sending correct torque figures to the transmission. Last edited by ziekxq; 04-19-2019 at 09:28 PM.. |

As far as I know jb stage one and jb4 map 1 is the same deal, but you better off checking that on their forums. I sold my JB4 long time ago, and with MHD tunes you can run E85 as well. First thing you probably want to do is upgrade fmic tbh, but if you are happy with JB4 than that is all that really matters. |

Now if I remember correctly, you either have to have catless dp or at least 93 octane gas to run map 2, but I dont remember exactly. You will find better help with that stuff on their forums. Also, it would be good to know if you car is PWG or EWG? |

Run map 5 probably the best option map 1 is pretty jerky map 2 is a bit smoother but would pop a tuner error well at least on my car. Map 5 was the smoothest for me. I'm running a bm3 now and it so much smoother. Still got my jb4 on map 0 I just use it for the gauges and scanner.

yah, it's the other pipe that goes on the other end of the intercooler. Got it as a combo deal on EBAY. Search for FTP Charge pipe, saw a guy selling a couple combo sets, since had it buy it now for $329.00 (if I remember, it was a while back) or best offer, so I threw him on offer of $250 and he accepted. It's basically a replacement boost pipe made of aluminum, just like how we change our charge pipes on the intake side. Great quality for the price. As far as what it added? I'm not sure since I never got it dynoed, but I can tell you it gets rid of some of the turbo lag and power feels smoother.

Yah, "F" California and their 91 garbage octane, lol. I know I can drive up to Sonoma Race Way, bout 20 minute drive, and get some 103 octane lol, but damn, driving 20 minutes just to get gas at probably $5-$6 a gallon or maybe more, it would probably be a S#!t ton of fun with 103 octane though!!

lol! that's what I'm saying. That's why I wanted to just go the "bolt" on route with the parts that I have and the JB4, at least I can unplug it when I need to smog unlike a flash tune, they would need to bring the car to whoever did the flash and flash it back to stock. So just to get a consensus, either run map 1 or map 5 and I can't run map 2 since I don't have DPs, but I can copy map 1 to map 6 and adjust the boost using map 6? Does anyone know at what PSI the car starts to run lean? or is the JB4 good at compensating?
