Custom Intake Behind The Grill

Trying to see who would be intrested in a bmw 535i Custom Fabricated Intake. If i get enough people interested on here and the 535i owners since we share the same intake i can get a batch made. Would be $575 shipped.

That is some serious setup you've got going overthere. Have you had the car on a dyno to see if it made any power?

Stainless to aluminum? You need to figure out a way to not have so many welds on there. Looks almost like 180 bend, maybe do 2 90s and shave off some degrees as required....just a suggestion.

Edit: after a second look, it all looks aluminum am I wrong?

thanks my brother... this removes the need for stock intake so the bends are nedded to get inside the small opening in the passenger frame.

made 500+ on 19psi before this setup, EOS fuel pump module, replacing a o ring on the charge pipe and leaky fuel injector. Hoping to hit the rollers soon and increase the output

Thats badass. It defeats the heatsoak issue going over the engine. I would buy, but its a bit out of my price range at the moment for air intake. Keep up the good work though!

I like it, but you're taking a significant amount of airflow away from the radiator. Did you do any A/B testing on how coolant temps are with and without this setup?

no testing yet. Can always work on upgrading the radiator to an aftermarket need be. Stock OEM intake was my main concern, spool time is much quicker and throttle response has increased since installing. Have to hit the rollers and dial in everything.

If you can test it and provide some data, I'd appreciate it. I've contemplated shifting over to this setup in my X3 (similar packaging to the F10) but I am always weary due to the radiator being blocked and air being sucked from all sides.

So much more room on intake side to work with.

I would consider this if it gave a nice loud intake sound and didn't cause the car to lose power (wouldn't need to make power). Better throttle response and faster turbo spool would be enough for me. $575 is steep though.

Yeah, I'd love to hear a sound clip. I'd be down if there were no negatives, but as you stated, the price...damn. But I get it, custom fabrication costs $$$

stats/data needed to take in account the price you're asking for
