Fuel economy did not change I suspect is better but due to the stage 3 transmission flash, now I only like to drive it in sport :

To the original poster, I am thinking of doing this as I did when I had a 335d; the car is so much more fun! Talking to Tunemyeuro.com, the EGR and cooler doesn't have to come off, the tune deletes it, like on VW TDIs.

The state rules where you live, or sometimes the county, determines if this is practical.

The number of cars with this kind of tune has got to be infinitesmal relative to national numbers, meaning no statistical difference in air data. So if one has one of these diesel BMWs, and goes the extra lengths to get these mods, God Bless America, soon there will be one less thing you get to do to a car.

Just removed both egrs, DUDMD hooked it up. same as you mentioned. egr can stay on or off.

as to the morality of deleting the car. that train already left the station 😊

God Bless "Infinitesimal" Moral Relativism and its "Numbers" game. Yet VW's Moral Relativist corporate managers are in jail.

At the individual level, thinking of these choices as a moral issue is wrong thinking, in my opinion. At the corporate level, it should be understood there would be legal consequences for avoiding government regulations.

An example: Someone has been driving a 2005 stock Passat TDI for 14 years, using less fuel than the available gas engine. That's good, right? Although it doesn't test as clean as a current diesel, it has always been legal. If it is tuned, MPG may go up 2-3 units. That is a plus also. This owner has made choices to burn less fuel than he might have otherwise.

There is no endpoint to moral shaming. Everybody fails. You bought an SUV? Wasteful sinner! You bought an F10? Get out a here!

Should have put CARB/EPA regulators in jail for favoring gasser SUV's over diesels that pollute more NOx but significantly less otherwise (CO, HC, and perhaps O2). Moral relativism indeed,

to OP do you have any insight on what all gets pulled for the intake manifold? the swirl delete I'm confident in but never pulled one of these manifolds and doing so tomorrow. also did you use xhp for the trans? have that coming in two days...well the dongle to connect. thanks for your time. looking forward to the full delete with intercooler in the next few weeks on mine. I chose Malone tuning for my ecu tweaks. I'll make a seperate post later for all that. car looks sweet with the m sport rear and upgraded diffuser. how's the milage been now that you've had it for a bit too?

to OP, thank you for your original post with part numbers. I was lucky enough to get the caps and plug from ecstuning for a fair price and they worked mint. I had ordered a egr delete kit from darkside developments. they verified it would fit via vin number. they were very wrong. I ended up fabing all my own delete panels for manifolds and coolant ports as I have fab skills and scrap but no time for ordering parts middle of the delete. they intercooler fits great though and I modified thier downpipe to work then made my own downpipe back stainless steel 3" exhaust with two v bands in-between so now I can remove axle back or mid pipe separately. lastly I used malone tuning. apparently I'm one of the first but ecu will be here tomorrow, fingers crossed I got all the proper sensors back hooked where they need to be. FYI anyone who cares to use malone tuning in the future will be able to remotely for the 2014 year models now.

I'm reposting from the other diesel thread into this one. The past week, I've gotten the low DEF warning, 1000 miles to go before shutdown. I filled the DEF 3 days ago and the warning won't quit. I'm guessing a variation on the bad sensor problem. My backup car is a Trabant. What do I do?

The dealer said the only thing to do is replace the entire tank, sensor cannot be done separately. $2400 parts and labor. Meanwhile, I'm down to about 650 miles before the computer will block any restart.

Update: DUDMD has told me they can do Stage 1 with SCR and DEF tank delete, and I wouldn't have to remove any exhaust system components. I think I will choose this route for obvious reasons. The main tuning competitor either can't or won't do a Stage 1 with those deletes included. Would have to go to Stage 2, with full system change out. Since I've also got to buy a new set of tires, I am happy to hear that I have this option.

Now running Stage1 tune, DEF message is gone, and the car kicks ass! Saved $1900 too.

For anyone who has removed the DEF tank on an F10, is it a major pain? Or not to bad? Thanks
