Performance exhaust voids engine warranty or not?

I eould like to replace my exhaust with a performance one, but my dealer is insisting on that if i do so, my engine warranty will be void. I offered every single tuning brand such as eisenmann, hartge etc. but answer was always no.

I am looking for an assistance from the guys who knows exactly what to do or not? If someone with similar experience can tell me what to do i will be more than grateful.

In the US, this question would be handled under a Federal law called the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. And the answer would be that the mfr (not the dealer) would have to prove the after-market exhaust caused any engine malfunction/failure you are claiming to be covered under the mfr warranty - - before the mfr (not the dealer) could deny a warranty claim. As a practical matter, US dealers don't know much of anything about warranty laws and will say anything that pops into their head. So as a practical matter you might in the US have to get the help of a lawyer to resolve this kind of dispute.

I assume you are located on the island of Cyprus, so don't know if you'll get much help from folks on this board.

Here it only voids the warranty if they can proove the part caused the damage.
The non-BMW part is not covered ofcourse.

It's only if there is any damage cause to the car directly because of the exhaust and the odds of that are small, I put aftermarket quads on mine and love them. Even people at the dealership like them. I would do it because he can't do anything unless if your car is broken because of it.. So it's up to you.

as long as its cat back exhaust you should be fine..anything that removes the cats will most likely cause issues with warranty.. Some BMW Dealers Sell aftermarket axle back systems so you shouldnt have a problem with an axle back system even a cat back.

^Any vids of your Meister exhaust? I've been trying to find someone with the exhaust and without the AR downpipes to see how it would sound.

My last car was an E60 M5 with Eisenmann Race exhaust . it was crazy loud and we never had any issues with warranty, even with some motor issues I had. I am installing Meisterschaft later this week,so will try to post up some vids...

^Please do! I've been trying to get vids of this exhaust without the AR Downpipes for a while now. I don't mind doing an exhaust, but the downpipes would be harder to argue with BMW for repair work if anything did go wrong down the road.
