OPINION NEEDED: M5 Diffuser in Gloss Black or AW?
So I am getting the M5 Diffuser delivered soon and have been having a hard time deciding on Gloss Black or AW... first world problems . I do admit I like the black/white contrast and I do eventually plan on getting a black trunk spoiler, eventually a black front lip and roof wrapped in black BUT the white diffuser REALLY does show off the lines of the diffuser.
Would love to hear some opinions and or pics of others who have either painted them body color or left it black. The attached pics are from another members car I found while browsing around, not sure who's though so I can't give them props unfortunately.

You really can't go wrong with either choice as they both look fantastic. It's really just down to personal preference. I would go Black but frankly it's such an easy/cheap mod that you could have it wrapped the opposite colour then swap it once a year if you wanted to have the variety.

Tough call.. maybe just my experience but when I look around it seems hard for shops to match the AW perfectly, especially when your AW is 3 years old (as is mine). Black you don't have to worry about matching.
Black is def more aggressive, White is cleaner. depends what your going for. Sorry not to give a definitive answer. Either way you cant go wrong Plasti dip it black and drive around a couple weeks, then choose Good luck! |

Dang, looks good both ways, but I think the general preference is to have it in black. The contrast looks great on white cars.

what about carbon fiber if only those two i would go with gloss black also, i think it all depends too on what exterior mods you have done.

I guess technically I can just have the diffuser wrapped black if I don't paint it white... though the heat from the exhaust might do some damage to the wrap?

So i went through this same decision recently.
I decided to go body color Here was my thought process. If i ever want to replace it with an aftermarket diffuser i'd most probably go carbon fiber (as most are CF) And also with the black insert in the middle, there's enough black there to break up the contrast. Since the diffuser itself is such a small piece. My diffuser is at the body shop right now (along with my car ) They are going to paint the diffuser Space Grey. I also added a body colored spoiler so that further made me go the body color route. just my thought process and hope that helps you to decide! |

Hahaha, stop tempting me. With the money I would spend on that CF diffuser insert I can pay for almost most of the Remus exhaust I want...

id say depends on what you wanna do with the overall scheme of the car. If you are putting more black accents, ie: front lip spoiler, rear lip spoiler, black roof, vinyl side skirt, etc then go with the full black diffuser. if you want to stay OEM look and more classier over sportier, go with AW.
