Saw an interesting 535i

Was driving along in my E90 and seen and I seen a 2012 535i for sale, checked it out and found something interesting. The plastic hoof cover says "Twinturbo power" or Something like that but if I remember correctly this car should have the N55 (single turbo) rather then the N54 ( twin turbo). So I'm pretty confused what engine it has

Yeah okay so does that mean it has the n54 considering that's a twin turbo or are they putting a "twin power turbo" engine cover on a single turbo engine ?

Unlike the N54, N55 engines utilize a single twin scroll turbo (one turbo, not two).

What he said but it kinda works as two.
It has dual impellers, one small, one large, to reduce turbo lag.

Yes guys I'm fully aware of all of this lol, what I'm asking is the car SHOULD have the n55 in it, if that is the case why in the world does the engine cover say "twinpower turbo" considering it says that does this car have the n54 in it ?

You aren’t fully aware, obviously. BMW calls the single twin scroll turbo N55 engine “twin power”. It doesn’t say twin turbo, it says twin power. It’s just marketing speak.

No worries. It’s a confusing choice of terminology.

Yes and they did that on purpose, I can’t remember if there was a lawsuit or not.
Anyway, if it was a 535i 2012 in North America then yes it is an n55.
