I do not know what to do.....
If you're getting a 550, you should wait.

UPDATED WITH IMAGE FROM AUTOZEITUNG MAGAZINE COVER.

Could possibly just be a render based on the latest spy photos? The lower bumper lip doesn't clearly reflect the change seen on the latest spied F10 LCI.

Versus real photo:

I'm not saying I disagree, as I've been driving an E60 since 2007...but it's really interesting to see people nostalgic for Chris Bangle's designs, when the entire BMW community was hanging him in effigy not long ago.

I completely agree!! It just goes to show you can never make everyone happy all the time.

I respect BMW for treating their 5er like a "perfect design", therefore not doing much to change it. It allows the car to age gracefully, shows confidence and talent by designers, and shows that they treat the model with respect and dignity. Mercedes has become the opposite these days (the facelift of the E-Class is a bad joke in this regard, completely undid every gimmick they initially designed the car around, therefore making it now look forcefully disjointed and desperately changed to hide the fact that they clearly didn't like what they did with the pre-facelift).

I agree with you. I really hate the trend of "fussiness for the sake of fussiness" with no focus on harmony. The very reason I switched to BMW was because they're designing timelessly harmonious and sensical designs again. I'd hate if they start going the route of messy-designs going forward. That said, compared to other manufacturers, I still find the LCI traits the F10 has going on for it so far classy enough, relatively speaking, though not as clean and classy as the pre-LCI.

Oh man, I hope that is not where they're going! I let M-B go since they've become a design team who seem like they party too hard then go straight to work to design their upcoming cars. I just really wrapped myself around BMW as I love that they're seeming to design elegant classics in comparison. However, I do not like the overly fussy front of the F30 (otherwise love the design), and of course think the 5 GT, F20, and X6 are amongst the ugliest cars.... ever.
Well I do agree. New S class taillights look like crap, but I like the headlights.

Now at least BMW makes nice behinds. People are looking at your car from behind most of the time on the roads, so IMHO BMWs aren't such an eyesore as Mercs. The F10 has one of the nicest taillight designs out there. I found the current generation E class taillights fugly, resembling that of a whole bunch of badly put together gemstones. The C class is so much better.

I like my 2013's current design better. LCI looks too much like the F30.

MSPORT I agree. The SE looks plain to me , the msport more agressive and just much better (as long as you have the rights wheels as well)
Comes down to personal prefernce at the end of day obviously but m-sport will always get my vote.

The current Pre-LCI looks like a clown with the big smile. I like the LCI much better. But nothing beats the M-sport. Waiting for the LCI M-sport..

Actually Bangle was head of design while the F01 and F10 were being designed as well, so he also was in charge of the "anti-Bangle/back to classics" look as well. Something about Bangle that people don't give him credit for is a far more dynamic vision and ability than the "Bangle designs" which obviously put his name on the map. I'm not a fan of the E65/E60 era but he's a very talented design frontrunner when one looks at his entire portfolio.

I agree. The taillights of the E are the worst part of that design and somehow they shockingly managed to make the facelifts even more bland and "Taxi Cab like". I always had to do some kind of rear modifications to my E's to try and disguise how basic and blah the rear was. The rear of the F10 I agree is one of the nicest of any cars out there on the road.

its clearly a render and a bad one.

if you look at the shadow line under the headlamps lining up with the bottom edge of the kidney grills on the actual verus the render, it is very obvious.

the left the old kidney grills in the render.

I personally find the LCI less offensive to my eyes then the Pre LCI. That being said I don't like either design, they look bloated and fat.

I like that the LCI looks slightly less aggressive, these are luxury cars (barges now really) not everyone is looking for a red light race, at least not all the time

Occasionally I will see a 5 series with the M sport package and its almost impossible to tell if it is an M5 or not at first glance. I'm not a fan of this brand dilution, it makes me sad really.

My opinion is a little skewed though, I admit I loved the way the E60 looked. It was so classy and unlike anything else on the road.
